I'm considering having a rifle built with WTO's SwitchLug and I'm wondering if it's possible/practical/advisable to build a rifle that'll work for a 6.5 SAUM and a 300wm? I know I'd have to use a long action and I'm not sure if the 6.5saum would feed in the long action? Even if it will, is there a downside to running a 6.5saum through a long action? If so, I guess I'll just opt for shooting 300wsm - I just prefer the 300wm and already reload 300wm.

This would really be a hunting rifle and I'm thinking about using a Bighorn TL3 (interchangeable bolt head); or I may just have WTO build it on their Claymore action. Is there any other custom action that would be particularly suited for something like this?

Probably a pipe dream but I figured I'd ask. Lol!

My father shoots a 6.5 saum in a TL3. It's just amazing. We have 3 TL3s running shouldered switch barrel systems. Pretty awesome. The saum has their own magazines for the short actions. Don't know about using it in a long action. It would not be something I'd do. I love the short actions. To each their own.

Yeah, I love the short action myself. Most of my rifles are short action calibers. But I really love my 300wm for hunting elk. I've spent so much time reading about Desert Tech and their ability to go from 6.5cm to 300wm to .338 and I was hoping there was a way to do it in a more traditional rig that's lighter and more hunting friendly. I've never owned a 300wsm but it looks like I may have one in my future. Lol.
