Synthetic stock for 1903?

Does anyone know of a good synthetic stock for the 1903?

I inherited a highly sporterized 1903 from my brother (RIP). I *think* it was a project when he was at the gunsmith school in Denver, CO, in the late 1950s (possibly really early 1960s). As I understand was commonly done back then, this has been polished and rounded to within an inch of its life, so it has zip collector's value. It also has a very nice custom walnut stock that has a really skinny butt plate and is sized for my brother, who had shorter arms than I have.

It's the only hunting-type rifle I own and I would like to put it in a good synthetic stock. However, a couple hours spent searching the 'net came up only with Ramline. Neither Bell and Carlson nor McMillan list one. No other manufacturers were mentioned.

If you don't find a stock you like could you put a recoil pad on it to lengthen the stock?

That would be a possible solution. I was hoping for a wider butt pad due to shoulder problems.

Not sure if McM can do it, I even called and asked about a custom inlet. Maybe try Manners? My solution was to get a laminate cut for my action as wood is easier is cut a one off on than a fiberglass mold.

Joel Russo has some nice stocks in natural woods and laminates. I got mine from Richard's Microfit, but it was not cut or inletted well, lets just say its about an 87% finished blank. Its also only about $200. Not sure what Russo's stocks run, but I'd rather have one of his now rather than an unfinished Richard's.

Oh the Richard's I have is their Marksman stock, I think you would enjoy the wider buttstock as it mimics the Winchester Marksman stocks seen on earlier palma rifles.

CDI is now making AICS compatable DBM for the 1903a3. I'll have CDI put one on my rifle sometime, kinda make a 1903a5 with a EGW rail, good optic, etc.
