Syrac gas block adjustment screw locked

I have a MATEN 308 18" mid gas rifle with around 1000 rounds through it and I have been shooting it more than I have been playing with gas block. I adjusted it down a few clicks when I first got it but never saw much difference so I just pressed on and kept shooting and loving life.
I decided I wanted to see what a difference it would make to how rifle would shoot if I tuned block down to where it wont lock back on an empty magazine then come up a click or two to have least gas needed for rifle to function.
Short story long. ...adjustment screw wont budge either direction. I tried carb cleaner and am looking for something that will "seep" a bit better...I have not taken handguard off the really get at it but I am wondering if anyone has had a similar issue or if maybe Syrac is on forum and can help.

Gun still runs and shoots so I am not too worried just want my ability to adjust my gas block back.

Put a drop or two of kroil on it and stand it up on the buttstock for a few hours. I bet it will work free.

^^^ Yep. Kroil should fix it. I usually have the locking pin stick on mine.

You may also want to give some PB blaster a try. It is sold at automotive stores, and is especially made to creep into stuck parts and soak them loose. Comes in an aerosol can and works fantastic on all kinds of stuck stuff around the house.

^^^^^ PB Blaster is good stuff and Walmart sells it. You might try cutting the bend off of an allen key and tapping the screw while soaking it. Don't beat the shit out of. You are just trying compress the gunk a little and give the oil a place to go. Also stand the upper muzzle down and squirt some down the gas tube.

Dammit harry, I was hoping you wouldn't say that... That's what I just put on my build but I haven't really done any shooting with it yet. I only test fired to check block alignment. I'm gonna pre oil those threads before I get started, hopefully this won't happen.. Hope ya get it fixed..

Nothing at all. It's just thin oil.

Id buy it again no worries. ...like I said its still shooting and cycling fine. Just got gunked up. Gas block is still doing its primary job.

I would suggest you make sure you tune it up sooner than later....lol

Sounds like its time to repair and sell it. SLR gas blocks don't have this same issue....

If you move the adjustment screw every couple hundred rounds it is a non issue.... Or what I do on occasion is put a few drops of Fireclean down the gas tube to soak every so often.... It seems to keep any carbon from sticking to the adjustment screw.....

Has happened to me often on my 3gun rifle... A little kroil for an overnight soak and it'll be like brand new the next day. Just a carbon build up issue.

Had the same issues and Syrac took care of me. Tried everything to get it unfroze but nothing worked. I do have an SLR too but also had issues with their Gen 1 gas block. My Gen 2 SLR has been great though.

buy a SLR adjustable gas block and be done with it. They are much easier to work on and much simpler.

Took the handguard off tonight and used Kroil......no luck that thing is locked up ill play with it tomorrow night see if it loosens up. It is still shooting and cycling fine. I guess I will just live and let live.
