Eight years ago Mike talked me into a Tango-51, down from some tacticool build in my head. I couldn't be happier!!! After I sold 5x precision .308's, I finally found my rifle! There's a reason this is his flag ship rifle, and there's many reasons why rifle stocks have been shaped like this for over 500 years.

At just under 10 lbs naked, it sets up suppressed under 14 lbs. It's a rifle you can still hunt and move with.

My Delta-51 is right around 12.75 lbs ready to shoot (minus ammo) without a can on it... I'd agree that it's a pretty good spot to be.

I need to get mine out and shoot it. But fuck it’s been hot here in Tx.
Dam Steve set up a portable air-condition system on the back of your Silverado Trail Boss and blow that Mother fucker on you at the range you got Air-condition skills. Then you can enjoy your Tac Ops :p

I was going to say, of all the pictures on here I don't think I've seen a Steiner on a Tac Ops.

The department chose Steiner?
I chose them. Mike R will verify who I am. What I needed/wanted was a compact scope with a bottom 3X range and a decent 15X for the world we work in. The SCR reticle was perfect for what we needed and the clarity of the glass is fantastic. I run our school and see every scope and combo that comes through. I have watched name brand fog up in rain, compared the Steiner to others for clarity in dusk, dawn, low light, manufactured light and the image quality on the T5 is sick. They track well, have held up to the fellas use and abuse. Knowing what I know now with the amount of time we've utilized them, I'd pick them again. We also run their 1x5 and 1X6s on our turret guns. The Delta 51, Fed T308T and Steiner has served us well. Zero complaints from me or my teammates.

I hope y’all are running the T6 and not the T5. The T5 was a big let down but the T6 is very very good.

Running T5s since 2018/2019 timeframe....T6s just came out not too long ago. That said I run a T6 2.5 X 15 mil/mil SCR reticle...The T5s have served us very well operationally, at various schools and I was completely happy with the T5 but was asked to test/evaluate the T6...do like the new turrets quite a bit. Mike''s guns shoot incredibly well...we had an option to purchase whatever we wanted and evaluated what was currently available on the market and what we've seen come through schools, training events, etc. We knew that the Delta 51s would last us 10-15 years since the Tango 51s had. We are extremely pleased with the current total combination of components (gun, ammo, optic) and add in the gear (sling, tripod, ball-head and saddle) from Hogg Saddle and life is good. Certainly sexier stuff out there but haven't seen a need to change....always evaluating though.....

If they work, they work.

I have no experience with the T series, but I know the M series is very good. Not great reticle selections, and the turrets are slightly mushy. But they are bulletproof and have great glass.

Not much sexier than a TacOps. The other kit, possibly.

242A is 100% LEGIT known him for many years and he's the Shot Caller in his position and had the final say on the Platforms & glass. I've personally seen him shoot 4 shots one hole with that 15 power optic and he often sends me groups from him and the boys that are SICK as fk in all positions. I myself need more magnification to shoot my groups he obviously doesn't and even though that glass wouldn't have been my first choice it works awesome for those Ninja's. That optic has been deployed now for appx. 6 years on the Delta 51's and I'd call it battle proven no doubt.

P.S. 242A , Good to see you here My Ninja stop by more often:cool:

You went with a christmas tree reticle for LEO SWAT type engagements? Wow...wouldn't have thought that was needed at the ranges LEOs typically engage.

I’m new to the Snipers Hide. I created an account for one reason and one reason alone. To give public recognition to Mike from TacOps for his product.

My team came to a point where we needed to replace our reliable and sturdy Remington 700s in .308. After nearly two years of research and T&E we followed the lead of several other teams we held in high regard and opted for the TacOps Delta-51 in .308. (The reasons we chose an internal magazine, bolt-action, suppressed, in .308 is a whole topic unto itself but that was the specs we came to for our rifles.)

With an approved budget of nearly $65,000 to replace four rifles we had pretty much free reign of all the weapon systems out there. In the end we kept coming back what TacOps had to offer. We are very pleased with our choice of the Delta-51s.

On our first zero session I was able to shoot the lock right out of the trunk of our Range target car. It was unreal. Our first joint training session was the next day. We shot against a nationally known team and outshot them in some friendly 500yd competition - and we were using old DOPE and hadn’t even run our guns through a chrono yet.

The fit, finish, and overall craftsmanship simply cannot be believed without being seen. The suppressors are quieter than any others I’ve been exposed to and unbelievably low tone. The 1/4 MOA guarantee is not hyperbole but absolute fact. Mike R delivered our four Deltas in person and helped us mount our NightForce ATACR scopes. It is an absolute flawless system for our role as a SWAT Team Sniper Element. (Sorry, no specific department name per our policy.) If you are on the fence or perhaps concerned since TacOps isn’t some company you find with 20,000 hits on a Google search - just take my word for it, they are as good a rifle as any on the planet. He doesn’t advertise since the kind of tier one users (Such as USSS, LASD SEB, Honolulu SSD, US Navy, CIA, and so on) who deploy TacOps don’t look at YouTube reviews or blog articles when they seek out kit.

Even his custom made drag bags are top-notch. I had moved past drag bags having tried three and never really being satisfied with them. Mike R’s however, are my new everyday carry platform for my rifle.

Mike R knows who I am and can surely get us in touch if you needed as much. He will simply find out if I’m ‘…on comms…’ then give you my number if I am. If you happen to be local to SoCal or LE I could even discuss our procurement process or joint training if you want to see the Delta-51 up close.
