That's a shame, long ago, it was top notch, I recall running through a 1k lot of it shooting the 1k line. that 190 grain stuff was smoking fast and accurate.
they got greedy honestly. The red box black hills 77gr stuff was reformulated with a shitty Hornady OTM instead of the sierras. The accuracy and SD/ESes of old are gone, but the prices have gone up lmfao

When did that happen? I have some I ordered in Jan 2024 that has good sd/es. To me at least.

22°F/59%/29 inHg

Edit: I guess you are talking about the SMK version.

I think that ES sucks for what Black Hills charges.

I've gotten a 3.7 SD and 13 ES with 75gr Gold dots, and single digit SDs with Barnes loaded 70gr TSX.

Does anyone show why it’s “better” that the regular gym?

It is supposed to have the same ogive profile as the regular 168SMK (forgiving design shoots well in everything) and, aside from the tip, the bullet construction is different. It’s geared more toward terminal performance instead of just punching paper.

It’s also a different bullet than the regular 168TMK and is not available as a component projectile.

so I know Federal T308T is the crème de la crème ammo for our TacOps toys but had anyone else tested other factory loads? I don’t want to blow through my stock just to bang steel so I need suggestions
Most factory ammo if it chambers will shoot well. There was a guy earlier in the thread who shot a 0.1 with winchester deer season

I only have the KM-OPS, my first and only Tac-Ops. Not sure why it doesn't like to chamber the FGGM. Easy fix though, I shoot the T308T and it excels with that cartridge!
I’ve shot the KM-OPS 51 with various ammo. Perhaps I’ll post up the results. I did have TWO rounds of 168FGMM not chamber, they did chamber and fire in another rifle.

Let me know if anyone wants data on different rounds.

That would be great, thank you.

👆if you can add different factory manufacturers and load. Really curious about Berger and Hornady offerings.
So far I’ve tested:

167 Lapua Scenar

168 FGMM white/blk

168 FGMM Orange

168 FGMM New Production

168 T308T

168 Hornady A-Max

168 Norma Golden Target

168 Speer TMK

168 Winchester SMK projo

175 FGMM 7.62x51

175 M118LR

178 Hornady ELDX

180 Norma Bond Strike

185 FGMM Berg Juggs projo

185 Berger Juggs lapua brass

Still need to test:

130 Fed Varmint

168 Hornady Z-Max

175 Lapua Scenar

175 FGMM 308

Going off memory I think the only ones that were over 1” were the Norma Bond Strike

I’ll come back and add some data.

The REAL shocking was the POI shift. I’ll calculate that as well if I have the patience.

All factory ammo, pew'd w the KM OPS - 51 / Nomad30. I thought I did a better job recording the data but I am missing some anyway here ya go.

A couple of observations:
- Shocked the POI was almost zero across all flavors
- LC118LR marked "MATCH 77" was pure trash, sucks cause I have 200 rounds
-New Production 168 FGMM didn't shoot as well as the older stuff
-Spark TMK SD and grouping. @BurtG commented it was the most accurate ammo he ever shot, I was disappointed.
-Equally shocked the Norma Golden Target shot as well as it did w those numbers

Interesting. My 185 Berger Juggs averaged 2575fps, 175gr Berger 2570fps, and T308T consistently around 2643fps (over a much larger sample) at ~300 above sea level spring/summer.

FWIW my Delta 51 preferred the 175 smk over the 168 smk and the T308T. I was all teed up to buy a bunch of the T308T at TargetSports USA and saw a noticeable preference for the 175 over multiple 5-shot groups. I also tried the Federal Terminal Asscent 175 and it did not like that round at all. I say that but it was probably still under MOA but I'm trying to post test target type groups and anything bigger than .3 MOA sucks.
