Im looking at buying my own ruck. Im looking at either the tac tailor or london bridge rucks. I like the look of the london bridge but have not seen one in person. Ive seen the tac tailor ones many times. I was just wondering if anyone has experience with london bridge trading and how there products hold up. Im leaning more towards the LBT for now just because it looks like it has more room. I also plan on using it for work since the issued ones suck.

London Bridge and Eagle make awesome nylon products. I've used both, and they are well-designed, tough, and will take a lot of abuse. Have not seen Tactical Tailor products in a few years, so can't comment on how they are now.

I've used both over the last 10 yrs i would say London bridge is better equipment as of material but way more expensive. Tactical tailor is good for the price plus they will meet specs if you need alterations done to them for custom pouches, and accs straps for molly set up.

I ran a Tactical Tailor Malice 3 and loved that ruck. It will hold everything including the kitchen sink. The pads they make are comfy and after a long day of hiking are definitely worth the money.

I like London Bridge's designs, but some of their stitching could use some work. It looks like stuff I did when I was first learning on my home sewing machine. Apparently it holds up fine, and it's American Made, but it's not something I would have let out of my shop. I guess it's just the difference between custom and production gear.

I wouldn't have a problem with using any of it.

I have not had a lot of experience with TT.

I am still a big fan of the classic ALICE PACK, LARGE. I have some updates planned. If I can get the time I am going to have a new pack coming our around fall based on the Downeast 1606 frame.

Re: tac tailor or london bridge ruck

I'm with Chunky - I ran the Malice 3 for most of this decade and it held up very well. It's still old school ruck requiring an ALICE frame, which is why I went with it, but it has so many advantages over the ALICE rucks we were issued in the 80s and 90s. The material it's made out of is the same ultra-sturdy material used to make the issue duffel bags. The storm flap, claymore pouch and sleeping bag pouch along with the expanded external pouches make it a capable of carrying almost too much. Add to it the extra thick padded shoulder straps and kidney pad and you're in business.

The Eagle packs I was issued in the past were pretty small and the only GP ruck I used from them was still fairly small compared to what the MALICE could hold. That said, if it has the features you're looking for and holds enough cubic volume, then go for it. The number one thing Eagle has over TT in my opinion is better quality stitching - though you pay for it.

Personally, when it comes to rucks, I prefer Kifaru over all others (the only problem is not many of them are jump certified).

I've had both. The cool thing about the TT is you can have it modified before you even get it. London Bridge is just hard to beat. I love my LB pack.
