So I was just chatting with a friend of mine, a fellow shooter, when it dawned on me that Gorillapods, those wonderful articulated blessings of the photography world:

Could be repurposed for a really innovative bipod alternative, especially as they have heavy duty ones. I guess the only real adjustment or piece of gear necessary would be a rail to camera mount adapter.
