OK so I know Hollywood is Hollywood but something has been bugging me and I want to know what you all think about a particular part in the latest Red Dawn movie.
I don't know if this is the best place to post this so please move if necessary.
OK so the part I want your opinion about is when the cabin was just discovered do to the groups resident nark. They have there OP and have the bolt gun W/optic watching the situation unravel.
So as the active duty Marine; did he make the right decision to lay low and rough out seeing his father killed and the let the Captain walk? Or would anything have been achieved if he had told the group to bug out and take out the leader with a well aimed shot then move?
Now I know the proximity of the rest of the force was pretty close, looks to be within 100yds. So I am well aware that overwhelming firepower would have been brought down on him the minute that shot rang out.
But I also know the value of taking out a key commander in a position like that. So its been a revolving conflict when I think about what I would have done in that position. I'm not a tactician by any means.
Would he had enough chance of getting out of there in enough time to survive or would it have been a suicidal call to make taking the Capt. out then and there?
All of this assuming he knew the scope was zeroed and he had test fired it prior to that incident. I don't know, what do you all think?
