Am I in the minority in that I try not to post pictures or excessively post my gun collection online or discuss it with friends/acquintances? I personally don't want people to know what I have for fear of increasing odds of theft. Also only one gun has papers leading to me so if at sometime gun laws do go even more south there is only one they have records of. I like to keep my affairs to myself anyway so I'm not one to "brag" or shoot my mouth off about anything I have but guns and ammo are one thing I personally TRY to keep quite about.

Re: Talking and sharing gun collection with others

In the minority? Being absolutely quiet, I'd say yes, but it only makes sense to limit the knowledge that others have of our possessions. I have no need of meeting up with some felon at the end of a shotgun or a rifle that came from my cracked safe.

Re: Talking and sharing gun collection with others

Against my better judgement I post pictures of a few of my weapons on these forums where there is some anonymity. I sure as hell don't post anything on Facebook or tell strangers/acquaintances what they could find in my safe.

Weird, all the boating accidents that happen on this forum.

No shit, same thing happened to me. Really strange coincidence. Good thing I had a life jacket of I might have gone down with the boat.

Re: Talking and sharing gun collection with others

My friends all shoot, and of course we discuss firearms. However, with acquaintances I do not discuss firearms unless they bring it up.

See thats the thing, I have friends who post pictures of their AR's and Handguns all over Facebook basically trying to be cool and impress people. Not this guy. Plus I think seeing guys who are almost 30 doing that is immature anyway lol

Re: Talking and sharing gun collection with others

One of the gun shops I frequent has one patron that is very proud to tell everyone how many of what he has. Pretty windy about how he has more guns than most of the gun shops around. I know of several people in the local area that could put all the local shops out of buisness if they opened the doors to their homes.

Not me, family knows I had some, before my boating accident, close friends know what I had before my accident.

Re: Talking and sharing gun collection with others

Alright.... I can't take it anymore.

The boating accident thing is about as old as the Calvin pissing on whatever sticker on the back of your truck.

Maybe I should get a Calvin pissing on boating accidents sticker made...

I digress.

Continue...

Re: Talking and sharing gun collection with others

so where do you guys usually go boating.
i think i invest in some scuba gear.

after WW2 there was a lot of equipment sunk in some lakes not too far from where i live and a lot of weaponary had a boat accident.
a high ranking police officer was caught with a nice collection of not so legal items he retrieved from there:
