Note we do not allow anyone on the glass before the clock starts.
But do as above, like
Steel head or Danup8520 suggested soon as the clock starts. But create a fast terrain map, even if just on your armboard. I run masking tape, folded over to create tear-offs like motocross goggles. Then after the stage, I just peel it off and toss it reveling a fresh one. You do not need them for every stage, but if the stage is complex or you're struggling to remember the target order, it is a good trick. Also if you do not shoot the same exact gun/load/dope as your teammate, make sure your armboard has a drop chart for each of you.
You can sketch a primitive map fast before on the clock and pop in the details on the clock. I set a couple of stages where this is a huge benefit because the targets must be engaged in a predetermined sequence that is counter-intuitive.

We do a one day that is a perfect spin-up for the SHTC. We will even offer a couple of practice days. This match sold out 10 months in advance, but have a waitlist available.
