In a time that seems longer than 8 yrs ago I bought one of the side focus 10x Tasco SS mil/moa scopes from SWFA. I was trying to get back into shooting at the time but it didn't work into the schedule so I've used it very little.

Since I've had the chance to get back into shooting in the last yr I've added a number of FFP variables so it still gets little to no use in my safe.

Now the question, I've heard it implied that at some point the Tasco's weren't as good as the product that SWFA sells today. What is the difference between the offerings in the regular line, not the HDs.

Tasco is just a name, it's no big deal. Tasco wasn't the ones that built it in the first place. True, the SS Line that SWFA is producing currently are better than the scopes of yesteryear, they are still great performers.

The 10X42M that you have is from the era when SWFA made a nice leap into the realm of "super" Super Sniper scopes. The 16XSS that I have now is built like a tank, and really clear for the modest price tag.

You can still use that 10XSSM and have great service life, and superb quality. Don't worry about and go shoot!!
