Looking for real world input/experience. I am going to buy 2 suppressors from TBAC. I am going to run the SR brake on 5 bolt rifles and swap the 2 suppressors between the 5.

I am torn between a combination of Magnus S, Magnus S RR, Magnus, and Magnus RR.

Looking for experience regarding whether the RR is worth the length and cost in terms of recoil reduction vs the non RR and if the noise increase on the RR negates the suppression

It is a dramatic difference in recoil. If you are shooting competition where it matters or magnums I would recommend it. The difference in noise is noticeable but not crazy. You could go with the S-RR and a full size Magnus. The S-RR would be a really good compromise between length, suppression, and recoil reduction. The full size Magnus (not RR) would be the quietest.

I have a 26" 300 PRC and a 24" 6.5 PRC that I hunt with.

I do not shoot competition, but maybe some day. I have a 308 and 6.5CM that are a little heavier that I target shoot with.

For some reason I was thinking the opposite, S and a Full size RR...

I have bad hearing as it is, so I wear ear pro hunting no matter what. The ATV is to loud for me much less shooting. I can also hear better with my Sordin Supreme Pro on than I can with my ears

The argument for your set would be the S is a great middle size can, quieter than an Ultra 7 which many think is more than quiet enough for normal shooting. The argument for the full size Magnus-RR would be the most recoil reduction (* on 6.5/308 sized cartridges and larger), at the lowest dB level. For lightweight hunting the K-RR is the way to go.

My thought was the S would be a great all arounder (like the ultra 7 but with the SR brake) and the Full RR would be great for range shooting. Would you expect a POI shift if I go from the Magnus RR to the Magnus S? If they are the same, I could practice with the full RR and then throw the smaller one on for hunting

What’s your allure to the sr mount on mainly hunting guns? It’s bigger, heavier and longer than is needed for that application imo.

I don’t think you can go wrong with anything in the Magnus line but I’d reconsider your choice in adapter.

I figured it was most secure during atv and side by side rides before we get out and hike. I also was under the impression it was easier and faster to put on than twisting into the threads.

I am leaning Magnus S-RR for my AT-XC shooting short action stuff like 6.5 PRC/6.5 Creed/308/6 Creed. I have been running my hunting can on there lately, the Ultra 7 Gen 2 and I'd like it back to full time dedicated hunting use.

@Zak Smith do you guys have any data on recoil reduction for 6mm cartridges for the RR cans or any plans to offer a 6.5 or 6mm version of the Magnus line?

The Magnus S RR intrigues me for my PRS rifle but I'd like to have an idea of performance expectations before shelling out $1500 for one.
I don't think we have recorded data on the 6mm's, but Sam reports that with smaller-capacity 6's, the K and S work better, since they don't have enough gas left over in the full lenght one. Talking recoil reduction

I don't think the RR is worth it unless you are trying to tame a magnum. I have a full size Magnus and had a K RR. Compared to the other braked cans, TBAC is way behind on muzzle jump. With the design of the RR, I think you need much more gas moving then you get from the common 6 , .25 and 6.5 caliber competition cartridges.

If you want a can to tame 6.5cm and below, a419 mav, KGM or BOSS comp perform much better from my experience.

Love my Magnus S RR. I use it for PRS and hunting and won the first match I used it in. :) It's fine on recoil and you are going to have to change how you engage with your rifle regardless of what suppressor you use coming from a muzzle brake. The good part about the Magnus S RR is that it does a good job on being a suppressor and the brake on the end is just icing on the cake. Jeff Guerry won Box Canyon with a Magnus RR can.

I'm not sure, we have shipped a lot of them but they also sell fast. If you need help finding a particular model in stock or "about to be in stock", please email us and we can do some research for you

Email sent!

Yeah I was a waitlist with Mile High. It shipped yesterday to my SOT.

I don't see a waitlist option with them, just a pre-order option.
