Tech Help - Kestrel 5700x and AB Quantum

So I bought a new Kestrel (my first) - the 5700x. It was on sale (may still be) at Eurooptic for the same price as the normal 5700 Elite, so why not?

I've got three primary challenges and I'd love some help. The challenges are (probably) in order as I'm trying to still figure this wonky thing out.

1. Kestrel LiNK ballistics sees the Kestrel, but won't connect. It just hangs on "connecting to" and then the connexion disappears. Kestrel LiNK, on the other hand, connected just find without issue.
2. This is (probably) related to issue 1, but I can't figure out how, for the love of Moses, to push my AB Quantum gun profiles into the Kestrel. I'm *assuming* that this is because I can't get the Kestrel LiNK ballistics app set up properly and this is how I would do it.
3. I'm frustrated that the Kestrel can either be on PC / Mobile settings or Device, but not both. I have a Terrapin X LRF that I'd love to pair with the Kestrel and have the combined data sent to the AB Quantum app. Sadly, this appears not to be (unless y'all have figured out a right and proper hack) and so I need / would like to use the AB app inside the Kestrel which leads me back to 1.

Appreciate all help,

Cheers!

Pair your lrf to quantum. It will run to your kestrel and quantum at the same time. (This is what I do with my sig)

You don’t need link to send profile in quantum but make sure you have the latest update.

Her ma gerd! I'm now 15 minutes and 50% of the way into the firmware update. Hopefully this will help. I like the UX of Quantum, and it is easier to get things done there (vs the Kestrel).

My LRF, a Terrapin X, unfortunately will not pair with the Quantum. Maybe someday.... Currently there is no support unless that changed without me knowing.

Cheers!

Correct, none of the Vectronix line is supported in Quantum yet, including the VectorX. It is "on the roadmap" from the last time I asked about this.

Once your firmware is updated on the Kestrel, it should show up in Quantum. Then you can push your rifle profiles down to it. The online time I open LiNK now is to check for firmware updates. I agree with you, only being able to connect to 1 thing is highly annoying and it is 100% because of the way Kestrel has it set up. Bluetooth can, and does, connect to multiple things at a time. The Kestrel can connect to an LRF OR your phone, and the optional HUD. That's it. Very aggravating.

Yeah, that (eventually) happened last night. I had to upgrade the firmware twice in a row (despite it being a new Kestrel).

Since then, I've been able to sync my profiles back and forth, the link app works, etc.

So in the short term, at least I can use the Terrapin X with the Kestrel as my ballistics calculator and just use the quantum app to update / modify the rifle profile and send it up to the Kestrel as changes happen.

They must have fixed the issue. When I called kestrel last week it was still in development. I had profiles sent to my kestrel from my Quantum ap and once those profiles were on the kestrel, Link app would not allow me to access profiles through gun profiles. It would immediately crash the app. Maybe I need to check for a firmware upgrade today.

That is highly disappointing for sure, considering that it worked under synapse. I would imagine that could be fixed by a firmware update from victronix, but they don't seem to be interested in doing anything with the X anymore. Force everyone over to the Vector binos it seems. Wish I would have realized this before I bought the Vector, I would have just gotten the new Sig Kilos as I hate supporting a company that doesn't support its user base.
