Tell me about the SR-25

Re: Tell me about the SR-25

Great weapon by reputation, hold their value. I kick myself for passing a georgous one for $3,000 about 4-5 years ago (I'm estimating since I cannot remember when)that was all original with original case and luepy Mark 4 on top... Anybody own a time machine. I have heard that the older SR-25's were better than some of the newer ones but somebody with more experience could better answer that....SmokeRolls

No kidding. I'd go all the way back to 1974 if I could keep the knowledge I've gained since then...

I've once handled and shot a Mk 11 Mod0 (US Navy SR25, 20" barrel, Leupold Mk IV 3.5-10X, etc, etc). Very capable machine, indeed. I'd imagine that the SR25 would be the same.

Re: Tell me about the SR-25

Had one and sold it (they do hold their value). I have an AR-10 now, no regrets.

They've been plagued with magazine reliability problems through the years. You'd think that mags as expensive as those would work...

Nice riles but not worth the $. Certainly a matter of opinion, just my .02

Re: Tell me about the SR-25

No experience with the SR25 but I have shot and watched the M110 get the snot kicked out of it for a couple weeks. Other than some magazine issues they functioned fine and had acceptable accuracy.

As stated there are cheaper ways to get and accurate/reliable gas .308.
