What made you choose the tenacity, I’m curious of why not just so much who chose what.

Older Defiances were renowned for this.
Newer ones are different animal.
For a while a few of us were able to get Defiance to ship actions with smaller bolt body diameters along with some other tweaks.
They then offered the smaller dia body as an option for everybody and I have heard almost all the "standard" actions have more clearance.
All of my SENTINEL and LongSword branded actions come from Defiance with the larger clearance. No issues like the early actions.
Very few manufacturers are shipping actions that are built like their actions were 10 or even 5 years ago.

I made the change about 2 weeks ago after some heads up from 2 other trusted sources who notified me of issues. I have not had any issues however until things were cleared up and a good print was confirmed from Defiance I opted to tell customers to send in the action for the first barrel job...

I have a lot of nagging complaints about the Nucleus 1.0, but they're mostly fixed in the 2.0. The 1.0 feels very unfinished with the cocking piece issues, firing pin spring changes, trigger incompatibility (CG Xtreme), etc.
Considering what's fixed now, I picked it because prefer the bolt lift on the Defiance.

Im pretty sure no one gave "coolness" as a factor in why they prefer the Nuke over the Tenacity. If you're happy w/ the Tenacity, good on you. Feature wise, its not really an apt comparison.
Why aren't they comparable? They're both bolt actions. They put rounds in to the chamber and extract them when done. They cost about the amount of money. I guess I don't see the need to subdivide them to make them not comparable.

A builder measured an action or actions and then called someone connected with manufacturer to see if they were measuring correctly.
So the builder drew up the dimensional print that builder would use after adjusting at least one measurement a half thou..

Defiance has said they won't publish prints publicly, I have not seen their posts about what they'll supply privately. Maybe that's how they do it. Get your data points and call us, then we'll help.

Even though I was "replying" to you and quoting your posts, I was just using you as a convenient example even though I am aiming this at the other 95% of the forum.
When a bunch of people collectively assume, guess maybe or quote 3rd hand info from other, things can get way off base from reality.
Information regarding specific products is always best vetted direct from the product manufacturer. I would encourage everyone to be careful when referencing black and white statements made by 3rd party individuals or companies (that definitely includes ME ). I can recite the Oscar Meyer wiener song verbatim without dicking it up but that's about it.

Compare the extractor, ejector, feed style and bolt head. The similarities and comparison ends at "bolt action". As was stated, the Origin is much more apt comparison.
It all depends on how you approach the purchase. If the OP doesn't care about those features, and just wants to try something new and doesn't have strong feeling of CRF or PRF, then they're very comparable. They all do the needed things, feed/fire/eject, so they're comparable.
I do not have strong feelings of CRF/PRF, so when I was buying my Tenacity I also considered the TL3. For my purposes, they're very comparable. Custom actions, good manufacturer support, integral lug, and I can get a (future) prefit from my smith.
It's not until you have a must-have list of features do they become less comparable.

OP asked about differences and choices. Pretty much everyone in the Nuke Cult chooses it because of Ted. The Tenacity doesn't have a Ted.
Besides the Ted, Nuke owners are only intitated after we can recite the unique features. So, thats why we can go on and on about them...
There are quite a few really good actions out there with features like Tenacity, none really like Nuke except Zermatt's stuff.
We Nuke owners have to stick together. We also have a secret handshake.

Well I have to say it looks like I’ll be adding the nucleus to my collection, I’m sure both actions are great but the way the nucleus is put together sells me. If anyone in the Tristate area has a nucleus that I’d be able to feel the action that would be great but otherwise I’m not hesitant to buy this without a test drive.
I bought my Nuke because of Ted's long and unedited videos as well as the responses here. His thoughts and explanations about its design and its features made me appreciate the product.

It cracks me up the way SH obsesses over custom actions and then a simple thing like feed rails flies over everyones heads.
I don't think feed rails are what miffs them. I think they believe the extractor won't snap over the case head.
Who cares? Detach mags are what the vast majority of people are using.

He's calling that the feed port cut on Rem 700 actions for ADL and BDL actions. Basically, as I understand it, they have no feed lips in the magazine box, it is literally just a 4 sided box to hold the cartridges. The feed lips are cut into the bottom of the action.

I use an Archimedes/xylo complete rifle from arc for competition. Just built a nucleus 6.5cm for a hunting rifle and shortly doing another nucleus in 7ss as well. Definitely some other awesome actions out there but once you get ahold of an arc it’s hard to pick anything else IMO.
+1 for a Nuke. My gen1 has been through some dirty matches, always functioned flawlessly. original 16lb spring in it as well. The Barloc in addition to the Nuke made installing the barrel and setting headspace the easiest of any action I've used.
A 2 day match costs me approximately $1000 with match fees, ammo, gas, and hotel. The expense of the match was more than the action itself. My Nucleus failed me horribly at one of these last year and immediately got rid of it.
Switched to Impact but the Defiance actions I've felt are on par, even the tenacity.

Would not set off primers. 500 rounds ran flawlessly on that barrel prior. Decided to quit on the first stage of day 2. I had kept the inside of bolt and firing pin clean and dry but apparently it couldn't go 100 rounds without being cleaned.
Not to be the off person here, but have you considered a Pierce action? Smaller company, but their work is fantastic. I’ve been running one for the last two years and I am nothing but thrilled with it. Not one of the big guys, but old man Pierce could build a race engine. Then when he tired of building engines he started building guns and oh, what he has designed. Just a thought.
