Hello snipers,

for some hours a the range most shooters make a real sacrifice, a the best ipothesis one day per week or reality maybe one day per month, plus some various miles/km on trip....

So when you have the possibility for test various powders you would test a the same session.

And this are my question:

A the powders exchange can only fouling with 2 or 3 rounds or need clean the barrel?

Thanks

I tend to agree with @ShtrRdy with the following caveat: If one powder is double based and the other is single based I clean between the powders. I had trouble with some fouling with Alliant Power Pro powders combined with IMR 8208 or IMR 4064. Gummed up the chamber to the point rounds would not chamber.
Wow, good to know! I hadn't tried that combination yet. 🤪

A simple pass with 2 or 3 patch and carbon remove it's enough for cleaning the fouling?

I really have to try monobasic and dibasic powders...

Thanks

That's a good question. From my limited experience, I think that firing a few rounds of the next powder seems to settle the barrel if there is going to be a change.
Can just as easily fuck up and produce powder and copper fouling. Run a couple wet patches and a couple dry rite quick between powders. Couple let’s and go
