Starting May 1, renewing Texas CHL holders will no longer be required to submit photographs and fingerprints. There are other changes as well. This is good news!

I'm glad to hear that. When I first applied for my TX CHL, I found my ink prints got kicked back on the 80th day or so of waiting. After submitting them electronically, I found out I had to start all over and wait up to 90 days. It took me from the end of November to April to get mine.

If DPS hasn't staffed up and geared up to handle the extra volume of people we could find ourselfs standing in line even longer now.

Man that still sounds like a pain.. In Utah they send you a form and you return it with your 5 dollar renew fee

I prefer one-stop shopping.

I had to do digital prints for something else, what a hassle, had to take off from work.
