I just got my new 10x ss hd and had a chance to try it out for an hour before it got dark. I love it!! The glass is outstanding and having the mil turrets makes everything so much easier. First time in my life it only took me 2 shots to zero a scope. I would recommend it to everyone and a big thanks to Brady at SWFA for the great customer service. Ben

I'll be getting one shipped to me shortly to try out for myself. If the glass is better than my old 10X42M it will be very impressive.

I have an old ss 10x and the new hd is way better. Turrets and glass there is really no comparison between the two.

can you tell me what the mildots are in? are they Army or USMC style mils?

You know I have 2 20X power SS scopes and Im just not inpressed I have had 4 of them and always had eye relief problems with them I bet the new ones are nice

The 20x is really handicapped with such a small objective lense. It is only producing a 2.1 mm exit pupil which makes the eye relief very critical.
We'd be glad to take them on trade towards a 10x or the new 3-9 FFP mil/mil.

I know this isnt about SWFA's scopes but I called and ordered their rings about a week and half ago and the guy on the phone said I would have them by last Friday at the latest.... Well its monday and I didnt receive them.. So i call up SWFA and they proceed to tell me I didnt actually order them and they were on backorder! What? I mean you think the guy who I ordered them from would have told me that but nope. Now Im pretty frustrated thinking I was gonna go out and boom on a beautiful day like today but nope I cant... So I guess my point is that SWFA needs to figure stuff out before they tell people that they will have their rings at a certain time. I know that the last Im ordering from them.

Savage I'm in the same boat. Bought a set of lows for that precise reason and paid for express shipping. No dice on the order. I thought maybe I screwed up entering my info and that wasn't the case. Emailed twice and no response. I chose these because I read they were identical to burris xtreme rings if not better and right now I'm pretty pissed. Ive heard nothing but good things about swfa but right now I feel nothing getting done and I should have gone a different route. I hope swfa can make this right.

I know man. Seriously I hope they can figure their shit out man. Its all messed up and the SWFA guy says its not adding up. I agree 100% its not adding up when you order something and it never shows up. Hopefully they can figure this mix up out or I might just drive down the road and pic up those burris rings....

I just read what i wrote and it sounds like im way pissed, but really im not im just kinda confused. Sorry if im giving SWFA a bad rap. I have never ordered anything other from them. And tons of guys on here love SWFA. I hope I can join them and continue to order from them.

Sorry to hear that you have a problem. My experience is just opposite with SWFA I mailed them a check and a week to the day I got my stuff from ups.

I had the same experience ordering from them (mine was a bit more comical though). Suffice to say that they will get you your item, it just may take some time. SWFA is a decent company and they will get to you.

How is the glass in comparison with other scopes - say leupold vx3/mark4, nikon monarch, zeiss conquest? Do you have anything similar to those above mentioned scopes to compare it to?

I had a Mark4 and S&B 10x PMII but sold them so have to go on memory. I do have a 2.5x10 monarch, 6-24 monarch and a 8-32 ed monarch and the original ss 10x and the 10x hd has better glass than all of them. Myself and 2 friends all looked side by side at a stop sign 3/4 mile away and with all set at 10x the ss hd resolved better. The parallax is dead on and I can't say that about the other scopes. I was really surprised because I like the Nikon monarch. From what I remember I wasn't impressed with the mark4 and PMII was nice but not worth 2.5 times what the ss 10x hd is selling for.

Honestly I don't think the PMII would do anything the SS HD wouldn't do and I sure wouldn't pay more for it. If I remember correctly the PMII didn't have a very wide field of view or parallax adjustment. I'll probably get flamed for saying it, but that how I feel!!

I have the 10X HD and have run it side-by-side with some pretty good stuff; for the price, I haven't seen anything that beats it. I'd call it one small step up from Nightforce or Sightron S3 - in terms of glass quality.
It is very clear, no distortion edge-to-edge, not as good color as Hensoldt, not as good contrast as Hensoldt, but very, very good.
