Newsmaxx's Michaele Malkin interviewing the Ar15.com founder now (Saturday 6pm). Anybody else catch it? Nevermind, Juan Avila is just talking about being de-platformed...by Go-Daddy. Shame he didn't go more into the potential assault on 2A..she had to bring it up..and just like lowlight said on our 2A thread that there are a lot of "everyday" people on their site. Michele is now showing her Ar15.com T-shirt she got for free from a member..

The founder, Ed Avila, died a few years ago. It is now owned by Brownells

The Avila family had a hell of a life story too. From their dangerous escape right out of the closing jaws of the Castro regime in Cuba to Ed serving multiple combat tours on the frontline in Vietnam. I believe ARFCOM was one of the VERY FIRST online gun boards whose history started with the late 1990s AOL/Netzero message boards, just like TFL and GlockTalk. When I joined in 2001, ARF already had a thriving and established membership and at least 400 registered members and 1000 guests would be online at any given hour of the day/night. The coverage of the 9/11 attacks on ARF GD was surreal and it would set the standard for just how fast information and news can be circulated via the Internet on uncensored social media platforms. ARF GD in 2001 was already functioning like Twitter and Instagram, years before these other platforms were born.
