I wish a more complete list existed with all of the exceptions (like this one does for Martins where they say that some models are made in Mexico, for example).

Ordered my first red dot last night, I'll give it a shot on my carry rig.

Went with the Sig Romeo 2 that notes it is made here in the USA... circle dot reticle and I'm excited to try it out as just the circle.

Also ordered the parts to make over the gun in a big way, 3.6" slide, DPM recoil system, Parker Mountain Machine barrel and micro comp. Don't know that any of that is China, maybe some of the slide internals...

Bought a Goya 12-string Dreadnought guitar with my first Bell System paycheck in 1964, made at the time in Sweden. My Granddaughter still plays it. Goya got bought out by Martin some years later, and they're still making guitars here in the USA. I paid About $250 for it brand new. Martin makes a D28-12 that is as close as I can find to it, costing $3499.

Glad that original Goya is still in the family.

And if people drink water with heavy metals in it, the state just lies about the test results.

I got my D28 right around 2000 for about $1500 out the door. I liked the HD28s but worried how well they'd hold up with scalloped bracing.

But yeah, my D28 (and the '30s'40s Frankenstein Gibson A50 mando and the Upton bass etc...) are all proudly made in the US!

One good thing about quality instruments is that quality craftsmen will keep working on them. Around here they're picky (ahem) about what they work on.

Real sad when Toyota is about the most made in America truck, and they still haven't figured out how to make a proper work truck. 3000lb payload capacity, 20k + trailering capacity, with a crew cab and an 8' bed is all I'm asking for.

And before anyone says it, tundras have trouble carrying their rated payload without the bump stops. I need to damn near double the payload on my 3500 to hit the bumps. Meaning I can actually comfortably drive it 75 down the interstate fully loaded without ever touching the stops. Tundras are flat sketchy and limited to 3rd world speeds when you load them like they end up in the 3rd world.

True. Unfortunately American's are not being "educated" as to the quality of the base material. This is across the board for every item an American uses, consumes or eats. Europeans and Japanese are much more quality conscious than American's. "Certified Organic" means much more in other cultures and they devote the resources to track down and certify how food is grown when it is imported to their country. Here in America there are manufacturer's with the worlds best quality CNC equipment. Unfortunately the base material they are using is not up to the standards America produced 75 years ago. The Chinese have 5,000 years of experience at cheating.

American's pay more for a loaf of bread than any other country in the world. How many know what the ingredients are and where they originated ?

Happy with made in USA from small manufacturers who are quality focused. Small shop firearm and firearms accessory manufacturers should be a case study in how to make excellent products at competitive prices in a relatively flat organization.

For industrial stuff I prefer Europe or Japan. Germany and Japan still make a lot of stuff that USA sent to china 20 years ago. Japan is obsessive about buying stuff made in Japan and so all of their large manufacturers make made in Japan equipment from hand drills on up. Germany is similar but they have succumb to outsourcing in many cases. I was still able to buy an impact driver and battery powered drill made in Germany.

The US trains the middle market consumer to look at cost first closely followed by convenience. The high end consumer is still very selective.
