More than 150 staff, some who worked there for decades, fired and gone... Visited a handful of times and the history was palpable... an amazing place and dining experience. The things that happened there and the people who went there... incredible. But Commie Scum-weasel Cuomo probably is...

I’ve had the opportunity to dine in some of the world’s best restaurants, and if you’ve had a meal prepared by a true chef who loves their work you know what I mean when I say you can literally taste the difference. 21 shutting down is a sad travesty...
That said, the best meal I’ve ever had outside my home was at a little place outside Moron, Spain called Papillon (French for butterfly)...the restaurant was literally a couple rooms in the home of an older French lady and her Spanish husband who were both classically trained chefs as I recall. Likely gone by now as the owners were fairly aged back in the 90s when I was flying through that area regularly. I still have the hand-written recipe for her tarragon sauce they served with their filet mignon. Oh yeah, they were right down the road from a slaughter house too...fresh steaks were always on the menu. LOL
A couple good options here in San Antonio if y’all are down this way. Best one in my humble opinion is “Bliss”...not cheap but extremely affordable for the quality fare served. We’re also Palm club members and they have a restaurant right across from the Majestic theater downtown, but frankly we prefer the restaurant right next door: Bohanons...I highly recommend the chateau briand for two, and save room for the bananas foster for dessert! Trust me!
edit: also a decent steak house here in the little town of New Braunfels. Myrons...worth it if you‘re here and don’t want to drive into San Antonio, but only ‘meh’ in my experience. Also a really good real-deal German restaurant Alpine House...very limited seating, so call ahead. Great meal if you’re in the mood for authentic Deutsche fare.

We do like Little Gret‘ls for a quick(ish) meal if we’re up that way. Only OK schnitzel, but we actually prefer the spaetzle there over Alpin Haus.
