I saw a couple mentions here, but not much data.

Metrogun

They only way to pay is check via snail mail.

I kinda wanted a salvo but couldn't handle the cost or wait for such blah reviews. Despite the metrogun 25" length it should handle decently due to lighter weight relative to the salvo.

I'm anxious to have a go - the mailman should carry off my payment today.

I have a half dozen or more cans but wanted something for the shotgun- due to ricochet concerns I'm using them more and more for predators around the homestead.

Will give a report when it comes in.

They claim 72db for subs and 82 for supers.
So even if that's a 20db exaggeration that's a big freaking deal vs 155-160 of a normal 12 gauge.

I've heard board gun shooters (or turkey shoot guy) say it was quieter, but honestly I think it just never came up.

It's not silencer level quiet- still alllllmost loud enough to ring your ears.

Also just pretty awkward wielding a 5" barrel.

But it does pretty much do what it claims to.

I'm really not using it much so DM me if you want to try it we could work something out (can't say that about a silencer ).

Did you try it with subsonic loads or with standard loads? A lot of what you're hearing may just be the supersonic crack. Some ammo is definitely louder than others, as well.

Which gun did you get a barrel for? I've been keeping half an eye out for a Mossberg version for a few years but haven't been motivated enough to try to order one directly from Metro.

I've heard and used these Metro barrels years ago and they were pretty quiet with subsonic loads, which is really what they were intended for. If anyone here remembers Tom Knapp - he used to demonstrate them in his shows, and when he was here at a local range I got to hear one of these barrels for the first time, and was impressed. That was around 2001-2002 though; it's been a minute.

Subsonic through an 870.

It really wasn't bad at all I just have a lots of actual silencers so my expectations were high.

It does what it says it does.
