The first video is simply an informational video. The fun starts next but here is the beginning.
This is our new High end 1/4 MOA guaranteed rifle.

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

Looks like a well thought out rifle, as I would expect

. I am VERY happy to see the Huber trigger being used, BIG fan here. I too am looking forward to the next video or series of videos.

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

Err muhh gawdddd!!!!! That rifle is pure sex.....I love everything about it. The Manners TF stock sets it off into a whole new category. I am curious on price as well.

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

The caliber is 308.
I can obviously thread one for anything.
I'm not trying to torture anyone. Building rifles by day and video by night makes for one sleepy redneck.

Our RTG and Randy's trigger guard are very similar in the way they work and look. Here are side by side photos of the two:

I'm uploading the first destruction video now. I would imagine it will be ready to go in the AM.

The price tag on these beast is coming in high at $6175 but there has been no expense spared. The guarantee has something to do with it as well. Not all of these are going to cut the mustard and there are going to be some perfectly good barrels that get discarded simply because they couldn't tackle 1/4 MOA with factory ammo. That being said I haven't put out one in a year that wouldn't do it. In this case doing it isn't good enough. It needs to be capable with some serious regularity or it won't leave the gate.

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

This rifle is SOOOO BADASS! I love every aspect of it. On the other hand, this will be a niche rifle or it will be tailored to the person who has money to blow. I just can't see paying $7100 for a .308/.223/6.5/260 based rifle. Most rifles I've seen on here from GA/SAC/R&D/ and APA are usually 1/4" MOA guns anyway, its the shooter thats not a consistent 1/4" MOA shooter.

I hope to see more of this gun, but hope to see the price come down to be more competitive with TAC-OPS based rifles, which seem to be the HOLY GRAIL of 1/4" MOA guns.

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

I evidently have to change the settings on youtube for the iphone etc. I Don't want to mess with it while the other video is loading. You should be GTG on the computer.

This rifle won't be for everyone just like a $7k AX 308 isn't for everyone.

Just now looked at the setting and I believe they aren't changeable due to the music. There are certain restrictions on what you can do with it evidently.

I wasn't knocking you at all, I've always wanted to own an APA rifle and trust me, if I could afford it I would buy one of these. Does the rifle come with the US Optics scope as in the video? Im just trying to figure out where the extra $3039 dollars comes into play compared to the APA All Purpose rifle that has similar main parts (action, barrel, bottom metal). I could definately see the added price if scope was included and the added upgrades from the All Purpose.

Everyone of the All Purpose guns have all ways been 1/4" moa shooters, indicated by the test targets. Keep up the good work, the rifles y'all produce are outstanding looking.

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

From one redneck to another...ain't nothing better than fishing while simultaneously trying to destroy @#$%!!
wink.gif

Seriously...the vids (and the rifle) look great, Jered! Keep up the fine work/destruction...looking forward to seeing more on this new rifle project!

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

Jared, did that alternate dope that wound up on the rifle correspond to the shift you had on target? I saw you mention, but not check the bore for obstructions... Maybe that flier was caused by a little bit of Georgia in the barrel, or something just settling back into place?

I'll go $300.00! And yah don't even have to clean 'er up!

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

That stock and bottom metal are awesome.
I don't think I could ever afford that rifle, but I could probably swing the metal and stock.

You're a brave man to do that to something you built. Don't think I ever could.

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

I'm a closet comando. I couldn't imagine getting dirt on my bi-pod let alone scratching it.

I checked the bore for obstruction and didn't see anything. I would say it was a random thing caused by something beyond my understanding..........which doesn't say much
grin.gif

The rifle doesn't shoot fliers so who knows. All I know is the fact that I said I would post the actual results and no one is safe from that self included. There will be zero bullshit in this video series.

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

Wow, that rifle is pure kickass. Great components, one of the best builders in the biz, and if Jered says it's a 1/4 MOA gun, that thing won't leave the shop unless it will deliver on that promise. Whew, I am drooling...

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

And the hits just keep coming..............

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

Awesome video series so far.

I'm very surprised the USO didn't stand up to the water test. Any ideas about where the water came in from?

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

Glad you didn't use my .280AI as a "stand in" for your test rifle. I cringed when I saw you throw it in the water. I nearly shit a brick when I saw test #2. Things can only get worse?? I can't wait to see it! I'll give ya $750 for it, as is where is

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

I absolutely LOVE the motivation of pure curiosity behind these videos. Just please please PLEASE don't utter the phrase, "Nevah beeen dun befo'"

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

I'm sure someone has done something like this before. I just haven't seen it.

As far as the illumination deal on the scope goes it's probably a relatively simply deal. The scope itself didn't leak but if any real moisture hits a battery while it has current bad things happen. At some point bad things will happen to everyone's product in this video. None of this stuff is beyond the ability of breaking.

What you guys didn't see behind the scenes was me throwing it out in the lake with Kayla taking photos for another 20 minutes after the video. I figure what I showed was sufficient to get the point across but I wanted some cool photos for myself.

Re: The APA PARAGON destruction video series

looks like you are having fun testing this rifle but if you are really serious about the test I would suggest giving it to a few USMC guys for a couple of months, they findout how tough your rifle really is.
Either way, i love your rifle and vids, keep them coming.
cheers.
