I followed the link to the other site and read a few pages, I had to quit because the farther in that I got I felt like it was some shit like what my girlfriend talks about in 50 shades of gray except it reads like a bunch of dudes jacking each other off through their keyboards... Did anyone ever tell you why the groups shift all over the target? I didn't feel like reading any further into it because I didn't see the thread taking the course of anyone asking why none of the groups have the same POI.
I'm talking about the groups that ML shot with the rifle that are posted in the ARFcom thread and how there isn't a consistent POI. I read enough to see that the OP signed an NDA so maybe he's not allowed to post the explanation he got on why the seperate groups shift where they hit the target. It looks like if you shot one round every hour and fired a total of ten shots all at the same POA that the hits wouldn't be consistent. Just seems weird and it would be cool to hear their theory on it.
edit: after looking back at his groups maybe he just got the scope close, shot two groups then dialed to the center and shot one more.

On TOS, those three groups were Mark LaRue shooting the gun. His POA-to-POI relationship was consistent.
Mark answered all of my questions about the targets that are posted in the first thread of this post.
Again, it is worth repeating that this whole issue is with the PredatAR rifle which was never designed to be LaRue's most accurate model. The OBR is guaranteed 5 shots (not 3) under 1 MOA. I have an 18" 7.62 OBR which has performed up to the expectations attributed to these rifles. The very first time I shot it out to 500 yds, me and buddy were hitting a 6" square steel gong 18 out of 20 shots with factory Fed. GMM 168gr. The wait times on LaRue rifles has gotten out of hand but only due to their desire to make their own barrels and to a very high standard. Looks like they are now alleviating this by shipping rifles with a stainless "field grade" barrel with the Free option of a barrel upgrade once they get production quality up.

What I've heard lately, compared to where this thread started just makes no sense to me. You initially got good results then neither you or the Rifles Only staff could get good results out of the gun. Later on you went to Larue, rifle disappeared for 2 minutes and came back shooting good again and this was after it had been back to Larue once already.
I bought a LaRue PredatAR 7.62 with a 16" barrel.
Using BH match ammo, I was able to get some good groups out of it. Those groups are on page 6 of elfster's 100 yard shout out, round 2.
I felt good enough about it that I took the package to Rifles Only for a class there. When I got there, the rifle wouldn't group well. I thought it was me. Both the primary and alternate instructor shot groups out of it, and it was determined that its a 4" gun. The ammo used was M118LR.
I immediately got in touch with LaRue Tactical to get this fixed. They had it for a week, shot 14, 3-shot groups and they determined that the rifle meets the factory specs.

1) DOES THIS GUN HAVE A CONSISTENT POINT OF IMPACT BETWEEN THE GROUPS? (The assumption is that there was a consistent POA)
2) WHAT IS THE ACCURACY LEVEL OF THIS GUN, in MOA?

I don't believe that the upper or barrel were changed as there were particular markings on the original upper that are still on the gun.
What I take out if it is that they either fixed you by reminding you how you shot the gun when you first had good luck with it but couldn't reproduce with experienced shooters at RO trying to help or... They fixed the gun/replaced the upper in that 2 minutes. I have my opinion on what happened. Either way I'm sure you are glad that you don't have a $3,000 4MOA rifle anymore and I say good for you.
I'm still confused about the whole thing, too. I'm at the point of, "Whatever, it shoots now."

Sounds like someone re-torqued the barrel nut. At least the gun shoots now. That is a nice 10 round group (even w/ the flyer). How much time between shots?
Time between shots was roughly.... 10-15 seconds.... I think. I wasn't really keeping track.
Sounds to me like they found a problem with the crown.....the only thing I can think of that could be fixed that quickly.

I agree feels like I was left at the altar. You had this big build up from the OP and you could sense his frustration. Then you have the problem solved and it is shrouded in secret like an Area 51 project.
Im told that everyone signs the NDA to get past the lobby. I apologize for the build-up.
I'm trying really hard to not be Douchy McDoucherton, but I don't want to get sued.
I had a hard time not thinking the same thing but it's not the OPs fault. He spent a ton of money he probably worked for and ended up with problems that qualified shooters couldn't pinpoint and that didn't get taken care of until numerous attempts to get help from the builder including surprise visits to the shop, a thread asking for help on a huge gun/shooting forum and then a meeting in the secret lair after signing a non disclosure agreement. His gun wasn't right for some reason, it is now somehow... And he's not allowed to explain why. While I agree that the smoke in mirrors and wizzard of oz crap is ridiculous, it isn't bellys fault he just wanted a gun worth some fraction of what he spent I believe. I'd say it is that now. Took a lot of time, ammo, wasted money including hassle at a shooting class and patience to get it there though.
I know the OP personally. He's a stand-up guy. If he could tell you what changed, he would. The name calling is typical of Internet tough guys or people with poor reading comprehension.

I work for a scientific instrument company that does highly complex measurements on powders of all kinds.
You won't get past the lobby of my company without signing a NDA either. It is nearly standard industry practice when you have proprietary information or process.
Don't blame the OP, civil penalties for violation of an NDA, if the company can prove it, can be pretty severe.
When I came to work for them 15 years ago this month, I signed non-disclosure and non-competition agreements that are binding to this day.
I can discuss general principles but not specifics about anything we do. I run into constraints about this all the time and I'm the guy who runs the world wide help desk.
