I don't really like Mayweather but he is absolutely right about this one. You save the hugs until the last bell and the ref raises someones hand. Other than that, just touch gloves and protect yourself.

Re: The End of Mayweather v.s. Ortiz Gif Inside:

After watching the fight last night it's fairly easy to see that Mayweather was pissed about the headbutt.

So in retaliation he did something that even though it was legal showed a complete lack of class and sportsmanship. Mayweather knew what he did was cheap.

Re: The End of Mayweather v.s. Ortiz Gif Inside:

Look at the official stoppage time.

Which, of course, lines up with the same time as the break and timeout to assess the point deduction against Ortiz.

"Referee" Cortez did his usual incompetent job, and missed a good fight.

The fight hadn't been restarted, and Cortez was lining up the timekeeper when Mayweather took the cheap shots.

Hitting on the break is a foul. If a fighter can't continue due to damage from a foul, the offending fighter loses.

By the rules, Mayweather lost. Course, this IS boxing, so he wins.

"Protect yourself at all times"?

So, I guess it's OK to walk up and knock a guy off his stool between rounds.

Shoulda "protected himself", right?

Correct observation

That first shot looked like Ortiz was looking at Cortez like "do you see what he did? Are you going to do something?" and then boom the lights went dim. I am going with a cheap shot also.

Class and Mayweather catagorically can not flow in the same sentence.

On the other hand - rule number #1 - protect yourself at all times.

Good luck

Re: The End of Mayweather v.s. Ortiz Gif Inside:

Mayweather is a turd. I didn't even care about the fight to try and find a bar to watch it in for free.

Mayweather's best footwork is his dodge on Manny.

Re: The End of Mayweather v.s. Ortiz Gif Inside:

Dont see how that is any worse then the head butt he let fly in the corner. He shat on a good fight kind of like Mike Tyson and his bitting of Evander...

Your in the ring, keep your hands up instead of trying to hug the guy thats wanting to knock your block off for head butting him in an attempt to gain an upper hand in the match.

Apparently.

I chalk it up to, "What goes around, comes around."
