The Fix from Q

KB, will the direct scope mount remove the need to take off the top rail etc when swapping barrels? As in, will it just involve removing the handguard and barrel nut?
Also will folding stocks be made available for sale on their own one day? So some with a fixed stock can swap it out.
No, it still will have to be removed. Yes, the stocks will be available for sale, there will also be other stocks developed.

Dumb question here...other than having a lower weight than most chassis set-ups, what is so impressive? Also, why does their website offer a .260 Remington barrel or 6mm CM barrel but on a 6.5 CM receiver? That is confusing to me.
The Fix utilizes a one piece upper and lower receiver, which keeps the gun light weight and doesn't require a heavy chassis. Switch barrel. Easy change bolts and charging handles. New, safer, match trigger system. Uses detachable SR-25 mags. Folding stock. Modular stock, hand guard, and top rails. Starting from scratch we were able minimize weight without resorting to skeletonizing or being forced to use expensive, exotic materials. Probably most importantly, we aren't limited to shortcomings of the 700.

Really interested in one of these for a duty rifle. Does anyone have any I formation regarding the weapons service life? High round count maintenance? Parts breakage etc..?

I've looked on the site, where does it address high round count issues and such?

I'm confused about why you would sell stocks...what gun would they be for? Aren't all Fix's folding from the get go?
The Fix rifles all have folding stocks.

Internally, it is more durable and longer lasting than any other bolt action rifle.

Is the rattle snaking on the main spring normal?
I keep asking on their instagram page but the question disappears

Its just that its something of a widely known issue on M700 actions to have the spring bundle up like that.

Just wanted to know if there is no issue with it binding on the Q.

Heard it causes ignition problems thats all.

Starting to get the gun figured out. I'm right at 1/2 MOA with it now after a range session dialing it in at 100 yards, with the Hornady 140gr ammo. I took it out to 200 and 300 and it's a real joy to shoot. The 600 yard bay is down for maintenance at my range, but should be open soon, can't wait to see how it does then! What is everyone else seeing for accuracy on these?

1/2 MOA is seems to be typical 5 Shot group size with Factory Ammo.

Producing them now. Will be similar in appearance to our folding stock for The Fix. Will be perfect for The Fix with short .308 barrel or 8.6 Creedmoor, or the Mini Fix in 300blk. Meaning, we will offer those SKU's as pistols.

Kevin, I'm going to be in your town this afternoon for something unrelated. Got any time for me to swing by and ask some questions in person? Would love to see a mini Fix--if that's a possibility.

Please give us a report, I am very interested in the 8.6CM and Mini Fix for 6.5 Grendel! Might want to ask on IG as they seem to respond faster. @bachelorjack

I forgot Kevin is at NRA show in TX, I would think Adam is at Shop, but I don’t know, I am just a consumer.

I just thought it was worth a shot. Instead Im spending the day eating and doing touristy shit.

I will be back again this way in the coming months. Can always try again.

Did you mean in Portsmouth? I was also wondering if one day I could check one of the rifles out too, but I also don't want to bother Kevin or any of his guys, as I know it's not cool to just show up to someone's shop while they are working. I only live maybe 5 minutes away from there

Yes. Thats why I asked on the Hide first.

If I can convince the girlfriend we will be there in an hour. 4ish. Want to join us?

Does Nick drink Tequila? Cause we just bought a bottle...

My request to Kevin is to name the next rifle “Honey Badger” because, obviously, he doesn’t give a shit what anyone thinks....

The Fix is cool. Wish I could swing one.... lol

Sell something. I sold my Desert Tech and switched to The Fix as my primary bolt gun. This is the best general purpose bolt gun I have ever had my hands on bar none.

I've got all sorts of stuff for sale now, so that I can get a MiniFix. A rifle this light is not supposed to be this accurate or this ergonomic and yet, here we are.
