The FNG in west Texas

AS stated, Im new to the forum as a posting member. I have been here lurking for a bit of time, but have decided to come out and start posting. I have been shooting for sometime, and long range more recently. I would love to find members in the Western Texas/New Mexico area to shoot with and learn from. I have several rifles. let me know what you think.

Rem 700 sps in a Manners t6A dbm chassisi in .308 with a NF ATACR (about to change out)

Accuracy international AWSM in .338 Lapua with SnB 4-16 PMII with P4F.

EDM windrunner in production 50 BMG, and bolt/Barrel combo for .408 cheytac. (getting the NF ATACR)

Springfield M1A NM

and the ever fun Browning 1919A4 (non precision, but supremacy by volume).

I need suggestions for a scope for the .308.

As for the scope for the .308, what are you wanting to do with the rifle? That makes all the world of difference in scope selection.

I plan on keeping it a 1k rifle, the occasional hunt. nothing serious, Im seriously considering a lower power NF ie 3-12 (i think) or possibly going with the Vortex. I have a few good idea, its just a matter of convincing myself what to do.

The NF is either a 2.5-10x or 3-15x, but either would be a good choice. I prefer a bit more than 10x for 1k shooting, but it can get it done still at less weight and more compact if that's what you're looking for.

I tried to pay attention to some of the conversations when i was just a lurker. and Im probably going to stick with a 3-15 NF. I feel that is enough magnification at 1k. Im not trying to plink bottle caps at 1k. the occasional clay yes, along my steel targets all day, 15x seems about par for the task. I will say I love the Manners stock.

I'm planning to move to the Midland/Odessa area around the end of the year. Will need some partners, & places to shoot when I get there. Have a custom 300WM that I use for LR hunting, & shooting out to 2000 yd.

Im a few hours west of midland area, but depending on my transportation method that gap may be smaller. Im always up for finding people to shoot with. I travel to salt lake city, and northern Wyoming quite a bit.
