Have you guys seen this? Or heard anything about this company? I just came across it when I was looking at the NRA Annual Show in St Louis this year.

300 Win Mag in an AR platform seems great to me. They also have a solid Titanium AR it cost $100k.

Glad someone has figured out the logical conclusion of the AR platform is the long-action/magnum length platform...it seems these people aren't destined to dominate the market due to their unreasonable price point.

The more manufacturers that get into this, the better for all of us. "Omen" is about $1,100 cheaper than Noreen's ULR AR platform...a step in the right direction, but again, still overpriced.

I wonder why these firms think making an AR 0.5-0.8inches longer is worth $2000?

Yeah they are a bit high. I paid over 2000k for my LMT 308 MWS and It was well worth it. You do get what you pay for when it comes to guns and optics. But almost 4000 for a 300 win mag is high and 100k for the TI version is just stupid.

Cost aside, I can't imagine that titanium provides any advantage over aluminum in that application.

I don't think they ever intended to sell even one of the Ti models. There advertising campaign is working...

Because the 300wsm doesn't need a new platform, its been done on the.current AR10s and it works just fine.

Am I missing something here? The NEMO rifle is chambered in 300 Winchester Magnum (belted cartridge). I'm sugesting that the 300 Winchester SHORT Magnum (unbelted cartridge) would be a better choice. How does this reconcile with your statement above?

I agree and know exactly what your saying...but they developed a long action AR that would handle the long action belted cases like the 300 Win Mag and the .270. In order to offer this, they had to design a new rifle.

If they were going to just offer the 300 Win SHORT Mag...they could have just put it in their standard length AR10 style platform.

The new long action will take a lot of the hunting calibers that people like, so even though its marketed for the 300WM...I'm betting it was built as a way to handle all calibers of similar length that WILL NOT fit in the current AR10 size platform.

The 300wsm in an AR10, is a better option imo, but that doesn't help someone that wants to shoot .270.
There are very few places that offer an AR design that can handle cartridges of this length...and someone's gonna buy them, because even if you don't...some people want.them.

I'm on board now. Aside from .338 Lapua, I'm just not sure there is a long action magnum cartridge that can't be matched in performance by a short action variant. This rifle is going to be VERY hard on itself.

I agree with you again...but I happen to know of one other place about to release a long action AR in 338 Norma and they are shooting for a sub 2k price point.
This Norma Mag in either 338, (300 with 230's or 7mm with 195's) won't be touched with a shorter shorter versions.

Any pointers as to where/when? I'd take a .338 semi for sub-2k or even a bit higher. The only place I know of with a .338 semi platform right now is these guys: http://www.onlylongrange.com/badnews.asp At $5k base though...it's a heck of a spendy rifle.

Ok, I'm now saving up. I've been looking for years for an AR platform that will take 30-06 and 25-06 without the price of RND or Noreen. Love my Garand and bolt guns in those chamberings, and developing a warm fuzzy for .308 recently with an inherited BM59 and new Bushmaster, but an AR with heavy bullets (180gr +) and -06/magnum loadings is the ultimate rifle for me. This NEMO is still expensive, but maybe the price will drop by the time I can get close to affording one.

c_bass16, if the one you know of is close to production, any info would be appreciated as soon as it can be released.

The pic you show (if from the NEMO website) is their "Battle Light 1.0 AR-15 // Standard Retail: $1,706". The other comparable option is "Battle Rifle 1.0 AR-308 // Standard Retail: $2,831".
Seems their prices are in line with the competition on comparable products, but the point of interest(for me, at least) is the long-action options. ie: "OMEN // Standard
.300 Win Mag AR Retail: $3,252"

I would love to get behind the OMEN and see how it shoots. Ive been looking for a 300win mag in a semi and what better then a AR platform. I love my LMT 308 and to reach out a bit farther would be even better. All those prices are MSRP and we all know nothing sells for full MSRP price so Im curious what the actual price is and how well these guns shoot.


If you are comparing a bushmaster AR to a high end AR. You probably havent had a High end gun. There is a difference.

Called Omen today.

The rifles are scheduled to be available Q3 of this year. They are however accepting deposits (50%)...they did not say that i could get my money back should things not work out...though i din't explicitly push the point.

I asked about price...they defended their price by essentially regurgitating the specs...whatever.

I would have paid money on the spot were the price sub-$2K to $2500 max.

You should brushup on reading comprehension and history of start-up firearms manufacturers & firearms components manufacturers.

Most of them DONT survive. Only a very brave or a very foolish individual like urself will sink your hard-earned money into a company you never heard of before.

The point i was trying to make is that with their price-point, the pool of people willing to pay that kinda money will be very small, and given the fact that they have no other revenue stream (mil contracts, LE contracts, etc) their survival is very much in doubt.

While i'm glad this company has the balls to add 0.5-0.8inches to the length of an large frame AR reciever, that fact & the accessories being offered with it does not automatically make it worth $3200 or $3700.

Brining this thread back from the dead... Looks to be over a year since this was originally posted, enough time for the company to get some rifles out into the market ... Recoil was Very Very mild, and while the range I was on was only 400m, when we dialed in, we could head shoot Larues with ease. through the course of an evening, I think we must have went through a Case of ammo and not a single FTF.
I was very Impressed with the rifle and the Company's representation.

Jon thanks for the first hand feedback its nice to here from some one who actually handled one. Does the upper and lower seem solid enough to take a lifetime of beating from .300WM? Also did you get any pictures you care to share or does anybody else, not off the website?

No pictures, but the one we had was extremely tight and as I said, the design absorbed the recoil remarkably well. I did not notice a huge difference from my 18" GAP 10 308. It did have a Break though. The design absorbed recoil and there was not the beating you would expect.
