Just getting into this but good post. My father was a captain with TWA for 30 years, flew everything from Martin 404's and DC3's up to 737's he would agree 100% with this lady...who I bet was HOT a few years ago.
Imagine the outcome if an inexperienced DEI hire had been in Sully's seat when he had to ditch into the Hudson.
What is/was her experience level before she went to Continental in '98?

That’s the truth right there. I couldn’t even get an interview with them in that time frame because I was a white male civilian pilot. They wanted a total time minimum of 7000 hours and you had to be getting that flight time at the rate of 1000 per year or no interview for you. If you were a military pilot you only needed 2000 hours no time accumulation requirements. If you were in any other group, you can fill in the blank, you only needed a total time of 800 hours and if you flunked the sim ride, they would interview you again in 6 months. I know theses facts first hand from talking with their head of hiring. He called me after the president of the airline at the time, John Edwardson, recommended me for the job and sent him my information questioning why he had not called me for an interview. I’m glad I didn’t have to work with the pool of people they have hired over the years. They did me a favor.
Back when she was hired, I was a Capt at the commuters. Saw females getting hired at the majors with a bare min wet ATP (or less) while the rest of us (white males) couldn't even get interviews. First hand knowledge of more than a dozen such instances. I know at least three of them did not make it past their probie year due to performance issues.
Went to a job fair before the start of the lost decade and shoved my resume on front of a UAL recruiter and asked him what I am missing from my resume and why I was not at least getting a call to interview. (I had just upgraded to F/O on the 727 a few months back.) He accused me of faking my time and lying on my resume. Of course that pissed me off. He was more interested in flirting with all the girls looking for interviews.
I did a quick search of this Capt SW. She list nothing before Continental on her resume and has no commuter aircraft type ratings.
Makes me wonder if she is one of those she rails against.

Facts. United is likely the most woke airline on the planet, their CEO is a drag queen, they’ve used dei hiring practices for years, but you can’t have a beard if you are one of their pilots. In fact, if you are a pilot for another airline with jumpseat privileges, and you have a beard, you can’t jumpseat in the cockpit nor cabin on United. Discrimination pure and simple. And no, beards have nothing to do with oxygen mask effectiveness, that was proven false years ago.
What if you happen to be a Black, Muslim, Lesbian woman who just so happens to have a beard?
This is why I haven't flown united in over 10 years and never will.
It would probably be ok then, especially if I was dressed in drag
. My understanding is that it was literally a lawsuit by a black Muslim that changed the facial hair requirement at my company from something resembling a 1950’s Air Force manual to allowing beards.
