Hey, I thought this was a good sniper flick. Has Mark Wahlberg in it. He gets picked up out of retirement for a counter sniper role to protect the president. But shit goes bad of course, and, well, watch it to find out. Don't wanna ruin it for those that haven't seen it. Maybe not the best film ever, but it is interesting nonetheless for shooters and snipers.

Re: "The Shooter"

Good movie, old movie been out awhile. It's based off of a series of books by Stephen Hunter. Good books to read, he's got a different writing style though, take a bit of getting used to if you read alot of clancy.

Re: "The Shooter"

Plot seems a bit far out but in this time....who knows. The only thing that really put me off was his name....Swagger, really? Come on.

Re: "The Shooter"

The book is MUCH better than the movie.

Per the movie, well, the first 10 minutes is okay, and the last 10 minutes is pretty good, but the rest is just lame ass hollywood.....

The book was out WAY before the word caught on.

Re: "The Shooter"

I've seen the movie many times and I have the book on e-books. I liked the movie and the book, but for different qualities that each had.

The movie has some gross inaccuracies in it that are very obvious if looked for. I guess that's just hollywood though. Hell, sometimes poor ole Nick Memphis didn't even have a bolt in his rifle when he was shooting or he had the chamber open.....LOL!!

It's a decent flick though and the girl is very nice to look at.

She's very nice to look at it....She made a quick appearance at the beginning of IRON MAN 2

Oh and if you watch at the end of the movie, she empties that 1911 - slide locks back - cut's to wide angle then back to her and the slide is magically closed on an empty mag.....

It's much better than

Sniper 1
Sniper 2
Sniper 3
and
Sniper reloaded. </div></div>

Really? I liked them both, even if just about every single thing about them is unrealistic. That being said, I thought the first sniper movie was better that Shooter.

Just my two cents.

Yeah there are a lot of little things like that thru the movie. There are many times that Memphis is shooting with his scope caps closed......but he's just firing away!!
