Tried shooting last weekend with a crappy bag.... Arrg.

Sent money for a "Both" today. looking forward to blaming my poor shooting on the wind or ammo instead of the bag (since its never me ;))

Flush with bags after a big production run in prep for the training season. I can have the "Answer" in your hands and under your rifle before you can digest all the testimonials in this huge thread. ;-]

A refresher for those of you who have gotten too far separated from what's important. It's easy to get lost in the testimonials and unboxing joy associated with receiving this / these bag(s) in the mail. LOL.

THAT good.

READ this and reach out. I can improve your shot-to-shot precision and eliminate your need to adjust your bag between shots.

What size bipod are you using on the bench with the Compromise bag?
Well, I follow Taylor’s advice (I think) by having the rear bag set the bipod’s height. Not the other way around.

I’m 5’10”, and I find that sitting at my range’s benches and employing Frank & Mark’s bench shooting technique that I need a lower bag. A taller bag makes me have to sit up too straight. I suppose if you have a low bench and a tall stool I could use the Answer bag?

The technique, if you are not aware, is to mimic prone shooting. Sitting, you lean forward, getting your shoulders way out in front of your hips. Also you square your shoulders up to the target (don’t do the traditional angle thing).

Anyway, for me, a bipod that goes up to 8.25-9” works fine with the Compromise bag.

Thanks, I appreciate the detail. I have a Harris bipod of similar length. I tried to shoot as you described last week at the range first time out and the RO didnt like it. Made me move to the side of the T bench ...which sucked.

The two ranges that I belong to have two slightly different style benches. The main diff being the width of that T on each side.

The above range’s T-width (lol) is wide enough for me to use as-is.

This range’s T-width is too narrow, so I rotate the bench around.

Since I’m a member of both ranges, I go when the general pubic (and RSO’s) aren’t there. I can do what I want.

A drummer's throne is your friend no matter what bag you use. Up/down and spin around. Also, easy on the buttocks. lol

Oh yeah, I know about those. The benchrester’s friend!

But I lug enough stuff to the range as is lol. Trying to minimize. At one point I was rolling in a giant Milwaukee Pack Out.

Ok, not THIS much, just the two bottom units. Fricking heavy!! I’m down to a smaller backpack and a rifle. Sometimes I also bring a heavy X-shaped sandbag, but I’m trying to just use a bipod.

I use a foam kneeling pad for my butt haha

Travel safe, Marc. And remember, Shiner Bock and smoked brisket really are good for your health no matter what the doctors say! haha

Cheers
