Join the contest SubscribeActually you’re not far off of what the first book is about. But I don’t wanna give it away. The whole series is good with the exception of the last book. I didn't enjoy it as much. Overall...solid reads. Hope the show doesn't suck balls.
Although I'm a bit disappointed with the content of this post. After reading the title, I thought you were going a different direction...

cool, out earlyAvailable now on prime. Haven't read it. Saw it on prime and figured I would search here for opinions first.
They are doing that on purpose so the lume of the Resco shows up betterIs it just me or is the cinematography so dark that it is hard to actually see anything? Even with lights turned out parts of this are still too damn dark to see what's going on.
Really? That is pretty disappointing. I mean I was expecting them to botch it mostly, but since Jack Carr was on set the whole time and part of everything I was really hoping it would get saved. It is frustrating how they can botch a book like this that is so descriptive, or like one of Tom Clancy's where the only detail left out is what kind of socks and underwear the director should wear when making the movie...Amazon fucked up another one.
How so? As bad as Without Remorse? Worth it to watch?Amazon fucked up another one.
I have had this feeling with just about everything lately. Including this site. But I guess business is business. Dude-bro everything. Right up there with flat bill hats, Affliction/Tap out t shirts and diesel trucks. I just can’t take it anymore. The books are ok but they felt like a big advertisement for all the bro vet tactical companies
Even diesel trucks, dude? Bro, what if ya gotta pull something heavy?I have had this feeling with just about everything lately. Including this site. But I guess business is business. Dude-bro everything. Right up there with flat bill hats, Affliction/Tap out t shirts and diesel trucks. I just can’t take it anymore.
Had an FJ80 with a straight six. Thing was a dog but could climb hills like a bat outta hellThe FJ 62 is pretty bad ass. Got to have 350 swap because FJ60/62's are ssllllloooow.
I’m through episode 4. The books aren’t that great honestly. They are entertaining and that’s about it. The dried is the same but the series so far is worse than the books which isn’t out of the ordinaryI've read all but the latest book... so I know how it 'turns out.' Which is why I am having a hard time with the opening two episodes.
For one, the screen is literally so dark I can't see it. And knowing what's coming next, I am finding the 'slow buildup' sort of boring and I find myself drifting off and then coming back and saying to myself "Oh, yeah, that's where we are."
There are differences. And am hoping that after two episodes it picks up.
I suspect that if you have not read Carr's books, this is a much better series. Antoine Fuqua did Tear of of the Sun and, I think, Training Day? Two really good movies. And Shooter, which we all laugh about. Nowhere near as good as the book.
But so far, not disappointed. Certainly not bailing on it.
BTW, whoever decided that a Resco Patriot goes "Beep Beep" needs kicked in the nuts.

Yes! I thought the exact same thing. It is kind of strange that Katie is chinese in the series. The books make a huge deal about her being blonde and of eastern European descent.
Gotta keep it relevant to today’s threat on the horizon. I can forsee a season where we find out Katie’s dad is still alive and being held in a Chinese/North Korean slave labor camp and they work together to save him.Yes! I thought the exact same thing.
This is true. I blame social media. You can't just go out and do something with buddies (well, I do) without broadcasting it throughout the innerwebs to demonstrate your general awesomeness. Seems like there is an impromptu camera crew at about every shoot I go to these days that are documenting it for the purposes of putting it on social media. The bro-chacho hunting scene where I live in SW MT is fucking out of control. Between the apparel companies, backpack makers, tent makers, etc, it is a full blown shit show.I have had this feeling with just about everything lately. Including this site. But I guess business is business. Dude-bro everything.
yeah, if you aren't playing close attention to the ambush in the beginning (during the dark portions) you may be swayed early on into believing that he has lost his mind, but it changes in episode 3...I've read all but the latest book... so I know how it 'turns out.' Which is why I am having a hard time with the opening two episodes.

I am going to bet it's that same troglodite who makes someone in all the movies look through a Walmart pair of barska old military style binoculars and see constant scanning range, bearing, star alignment, fart density, and a dozen other doo-dads flickering all over. I believe him to also have been behind making every optic on the series "The Unit" to have a Sheppard reticle in it, even the pistol scope on the suppressed 22. Semi....

I’m a few episodes in. Land Cruiser, BRCC just a few really stupid obvious ones. I’ll keep an eye out for more, it’s late so I’m sure I’m missing other obvious ones.Never read the book.
Show was entertaining.
Holy logo placement though, Batman

i almost think it was on purpose, so that your recollection of events weren't as clear as they could have been, which made me wonder if dude was messed up in the head. i didn't go back and watch it again to see how it went down. Was a bit disappointed in the production of the first episode. Every scene was too dark and blurry and the dialogue was garbled. Couldn't focus on anything else... OCD I guess
I’m pretty sure that some of them worked with Taran Butler on the shooting part of things.I’m no operator but I thought it was good and the gun handling very good.
