Alexander cuts the Gordian Knot by Jean-Simon Berthelemy
This had me laughing pretty hard... In an oped piece for The Hill Jonathan Turley theorizes on how the Russia investigation came to be and how it has turned into something so arcane and wretched. He begins with the citation of a NYT article titled "F.B.I. Opened Inquiry Into Whether Trump Was Secretly Working on Behalf of Russia", which really focuses on a justification for it. Turley's piece, the NYT article, the panicked commentary.... hilarious. I have no idea where the truth may lay, but I do have to question the motive behind the Times in publishing this in the way that they did.
I would appreciate an Alexander stepping forward to cut, or untie, the knot (depending on which version you believe). Whatever the truth this country will be a better place for it. But I'm not holding my breath
"...the real benefit of the investigative story may not be the original suspicion, but rather how it could explain the course that both sides have taken into our current quagmire. What if there were no collusion or conspiracy but simple cognitive bias on both sides, where the actions of one seemed to confirm precisely the suspicions of the other?"
