I bought 35k bullets from xtreme in December. Came on a pallet. Unloading the pallet from the back of the truck, down the stairs into the shop sucked.

First off...ammunition has always been prohibited from being shipped by USPS (at least per their own regs, they are "non-mailable" items).

Second...since when can ammo be shipped into San Fran unless you are an FFL holder (or unless the OP is not in SF proper, but in an outlying area not subject to the SF prohibition)?

Definitely not. Cool pic, however, I would delete photographic evidence of illegal activity if it were me.

Agree. I am not 100% sure anything wrong was done here, but I am amazed at how everyday some crime is solved or criminal captured by shit that they posted on the internet. If you some how fly under the radar then don't talk about it. This is 1/2 the reason the NFA gun trusts are under attack. Trusts Getting approved and people going online and bragging about how they pulled one over on the ATF.

I agree with the great Cornholeo, I had a couple packages from both Big Dog and JC Steel arrive at my PO Box the same day. The gal at my post office was shooting freakin lasers at me with her eyes.

I have to have the ammo shipped to Suisun City. Bullshit CA laws!

a friend of mine had 100k of just bullets (hand gun projectiles) and a few kegs of powder delivered to my shop because we have a fork lift and it came freight I think the delivery slip said 3500lbs for the pallet I was basically a block of lead..

I am obeying all CA laws. It is not illegal to own ammunition AND I had it shipped legally.

I am NOT trying to stir the pot, but I am VERY curious how you got USPS to LEGALLY ship something in many years of trying, arguing, debating with USPS employees about their regs/guidelines on shipping ammo, the answer has ALWAYS been the same: "NO! Small Arms Ammunition Is PROHIBITED From Being Mailed!" One particularly intelligent postal employee gave me a specific citation to their regs which I'll leave here for consideration of others because until I see something from another part of their regs contradicting the "non-mailability" of ammo, it ain't legal:

341.21 Nonmailable Explosives

Nonmailable explosives found in the mailstream must be immediately reported in accordance with POM 139.117.

Nonmailable explosives include, but are not limited to, the following:

  1. Common Fireworks. Fireworks are classified as Division 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, or 1.4 explosives depending on the degree of hazard. Fireworks include roman candles, skyrockets, helicopter–type rockets, cylindrical and cone fountains, pyrotechnic wheels, illuminating torches, firecrackers, salutes, and combinations of items that are designed to produce any of the aforementioned types of effects. All types of fireworks are prohibited from mailing.
  2. Fuses. Fuses are classified as Division 1.3 or 1.4 explosives depending on the degree of hazard. All types of fuses (except safety fuses as permitted under 341.22) are prohibited from mailing.
  3. Small Arms Ammunition. Ammunition is classified as a Division 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, or 1.4 explosive, depending on the degree of hazard. Ammunition that is regulated as a Class 1 explosive and designed to be fired from a pistol, revolver, rifle, or shotgun, as well as associated primers and blank cartridges (including those designed for tools) and propellant powder for use in any firearm, is prohibited from mailing.

Again...I'd love to see something to the contrary that would allow me to legally ship ammo via USPS Priority/Flat Rate, etc., because it'd certainly save time, money and headaches of having to do UPS!! ;)

My UPS guy has been relieved of that risk because thanks to the safe act and chairman Comrade Cuomo
No more ammo deliveries mail order are permitted in my state :(

That's nothing, 13 years ago I received a shipment from Century arms, 10,000 rounds of 7,62x39 and 17,600 rds in spam cans of 7,62x54R. The blonde UPS lady thought that was cool.
Blew through all of it in less than 8 months. Good old days.
