Little ranch house I rent in the summer up in Young sitting on 150 backed up to Tonto national. My old truck
Soon I'll be enjoying views from this place every weekend.
Today we took the first trip into a piece of heaven we Just bought, 30 miles from Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone. It buts up to 10 million acres of National Forest! This summer is going to be busy clearing trees and starting a cabin. Fresh Grizzly, Elk, and Moose tracks in the driveway too...

I'll match you a sunrise. This was opening day of elk season a few years back.
And the sun coming up on the eastern edge of my AO.. One of my favorite mule deer spots. This was taken opening morning a couple years back. None of these views suck.
Here was this past weekend at a friends lake house. We were living it rough.
This is actually my favorite. Too bad I didn't have the special permit to shoot him with my rifle

Sometimes I wonder why I live in the flatlands of North Dakota when you all have views like these!!
I went spring bear hunting yesterday and struck out on whacking a bear, but I don't feel like I missed out completely... Especially with the views that I was privy to while I was up in the mountains. This is up near Cascade, Idaho, and the views, they sure don't suck.
Anyone else want to share a snap of their favorite view while out in the wild?

Went and explored a bit more of my AO.. I loaded up my hunting pack (35lbs with water), strapped my rifle on (7mmRM Browning X-Bolt if anyone is interested) and went on a 5 mile total in and out hike, with 1300' elevation change. Trying to get into shape for hunting season this year. I will hopefully have 2 elk tags, 2 deer tags and a bear tag to fill this year.
Damn beautiful country up here to say the least.

Sunrise on way to work couple months ago and second pic is from the PRS match in Telluride couple weeks ago. Targets down in the valley were at 700 yards IIRC and at a 30* angle. Our feet shooting were several feet above our heads. The view didn't suck.

A little over an hour from my house. I think this would make a great spot for a long range rifle match.
I used to be this way, then I moved out of California and have been spending as much time as I can exploring the back country of Idaho. My life is much, much better as a result.
Some of the alfalfa pivots where we shoot sage rats and long range steel in Lake County, Oregon.
I did a short hike to an alpine lake about an hour and a half away from my house today. 7300' elevation combined with a very steep incline to get back out = I need to get into better shape for hunting season. The views were definitely worth it though, even if the fish weren't biting.

Man, I really don't have to go far to find the beauty around here.. This is only about 15mins from my house.
And because Fish and Game just released 1200 Chinook Salmon in the Boise, I figured we could take some poles and do some fishing while we were exploring. Heres my better half trying to catch us some dinner.. Unfortunately though, nothing was biting.

Earlier this year during a match at Blue Ridge Rifle Range, near Benge, WA. Great spot for a range and since I'm from the dry side of WA, I find beauty in these open spaces - especially when a rifle is involved.

My view from home. Pretty decent 360 degree rifle range also. It’s a long 20 foot walk from my reloading bench to the furthest corner of the wraparound porch.
This is my favorite bear spot. Especially nice since most of the smoke is gone.
My view this morning in Dayton Ohio... and yeah, she's the real deal.

This is just a few minutes from the house, and also in my patrol area. Can’t think of a single reason why I’d go live in a city again.

View is the western slope of Snowy Range in Wyoming at 10,500. I took the pic last month while rockhounding. Up until recently, I have never seen the grass cured out and brown. Even though there is a drought, the view is still awesome. There is a nice little lake full of brook trout over the ridge.
I could walk into some of these pictures and id probably never leave. Serious envy of a lot of you.
