In the market for a pro grade weed/brush trimmer. Combination tools will also be considered. I own a lawn care company and need to be able to hack through saplings and blackberry and the like. Any suggestions? Best place to research?

After Church this morning I was out looking to get some ground ready for a food plot and I noticed a dead Elm tree just standing there. Now if you burn wood you know that when you see a dead Elm it has to be cut. It does not matter that it is 96 degrees out, because that tree will disappear if you don't get it right then. Went back to the house, got my saw stuff loaded up and as luck would have it, it was still there when I got back. My bride said something to the effect of how hot it is, but she knows.
Unfortunately, up here in this locale we have the prevalence of "Dutch Elm Disease" where "the authorities" tell everyone not to burn the wood.
https://www.gov.mb.ca/sd/forestry/ded-urban/faq.html
Q. Can I keep elm as firewood?
A. No. Storing elm as firewood, a major factor in spreading Dutch elm disease, is
?I can understand them not wanting it transported out of an area that’s known to carry the disease, but a dead tree close by or on your property ? Probably more to the story than I understand.
Great score. For years Elm got a bad wrap because it was so hard to split. Enter hydraulics. Great wood, burns hot, etc...
The new chain saw just does not seem to be cutting it....
Have you checked to see if the chain is in backwards?

A woman from Arizona legally picks dead trees from a nearby forest and lays the hardwood discs on the floor. She made this floor in her house together with her husband, Andy.
Decoy
What did you use to “seal” it?
I am trying to think of products that might work and all that thinking causes discomfort betwixt my ears today.
New house on the horizon and this would be an awesome floor in there somewhere. Probably would need a new saw.......?
Forgive my ignorance, but how does that choker work? How do you get it around the log?
Taught my 11 year how to set them, just watch the cable and don't get your fingers in there.
The cable is stiff enough to push under a log, poke a stick under it to open it up if needed. It won't let me unload a vid so here are some photos.
Slide it down the cable

Feed the cable around the log
Slide the cable end through the hole in the choker

Pull the cable back through the choker at a angle, it will nest into the choker

Get it a pull and it will set tight on the log.

Be careful on a tractor or whatever you are using to yard it out, you can tip really fast. Faster than you think. Good luck I hope this helps.
@Decoy, that's spectacular reply to a dumb question! Pics and everything. Simply could not have been answered better. Thanks!
some where, i am going to do that[/QUOTE
Barney , really, thanks for all your great finds.
I have gotten the approval from the war room to do that here in the produce market, ill take a couple photos to show you how cool that it will be here.
i built everything very square and straight horizontal, the floor in profile rounds will put it over the top
Looking forward to seeing / reading about the project mate but please do not source the materials from here: it would be cheaper for me to supply from Australia.......
