Yes. It does. A really high mount produces an artificially flatter trajectory curve, artificial because there's no change in the bullet path, only in how we adjust for it. Small scale changes in scope height over bore, changes of around .5", produce really small scale effects. Large scale changes, changes of an inch or more don't produce massive effect though. Below are 2.5", 1" and 1.85" DOPE cards with nothing else changed. You can see that the dope needed anywhere is reduced by elevating the scope. All that's really happening is angularly robbing Peter to pay Paul. In metallic silhouette shooting it was the norm to see guys with 3" or 4" scope height over bore for a long time. My own rifle sported a 3" scope height. In that sport it's about keeping the head straight up but the artificially flattened trajectory surely helps a little.
