Call me a dreamer... but I think it could be done with the use of a geissele rail or something similar.

I want to add something like this to the front end of my Mcree chassis....

Thoughts?

EDIT, or something like this. Bent, cut, etc (2 pieces)

Mcfred that is a damn nice setup. Not to AR, with a bunch of stupid ass rails all over. Operator as fuck when you got a rail for everything even shit you dont have or use.

One of the goals is to get the bipod out further. 26 inch varmint barrel and a Specwar 762 suppressor have made it so front heavy that it has tipped forward. Putting the bipod out front another 4-5 inches should help prevent it tipping.

Check with them.... I know its a tube and that's not what you like but I'm wondering if they make it possible to add a different hand guard.

I'm against a cylinder though. Otherwise we could talk. Could you rig a rail up? Like the AI AX?

If your'e asking if I can machine your McRees, then the answer is no. I used to work at a machine shop, but I no longer have the nice tools available I once had.

Adding another 8" of accessory rail and stuff to the front will make it even heavier and will affect how it handles with all that crap on the front. McCrees Precision gave you 4 very nice holes to make an adapter to attach stuff on the back half. I'd use it. If you're handy and patient, have a hacksaw, a file, center punch and a drill press you can cobble something together that a fab shop should be able to weld together for you. After that a can of Krylon will make it as pretty as you need.

Thanks, I would have liked the tube to be a smaller diameter, but it was available and free... Could have gone with carbon fiber too, but again that's more money.

If you don't mind my asking, where do you see the benefit over just getting an XLR?

My friend got a McCrees chassis in trade and didn't like its appearance. Modification was the least expensive option.

The rifle will be heavier. But it wont be as front heavy as I would mount the bipod further towards the muzzle on the rail instead of the normal area on the stock.
