I totally agree honcho, this is not the right way to go about things. I just found it humorous that someone was immediately asking for more money, would also like to know how many jobs were lost during the 5+ days these people were locked down to their neighborhood.

On on a side note though your argument against this is similar to one the left uses when arguing that the us military creates radical Muslim terrorists.

Why do you have to make this about race? No where in the article does it state the demographic of the neighborhood? More to the point that the OP was making this is more of an issue of "would this happen in a rich neighborhood"? With that being said what would you do? An officer was killed while on duty in a neighborhood full of people and "nobody saw anything". Do you just say oh well I guess his murderer gets a pass on this one or do you try and show a neighborhood that might be known for criminal activity that this type of behavior will not be accepted? I have no doubt that there are a lot of good yet underprivileged families in that neighborhood. I am also sure that those good families do not want the gangs and dealers in their neighborhood because it makes them live in fear. The criminal activity also likely leads to even the good citizens having more frequent contact with law enforcement, this also creates fear (if not from the police, because regardless of what you've heard the overwhelming majority are good, but from the criminals witnessing this contact). So once again I ask what would you do Maggot, aside from declaring war on the police....

My opinion, locking the streets down is a step too far. Door to door in two+ man teams in tactical gear probably won't result in very many leads but is a lot more appealing than door to door solo when an officer was just shot in the head at 5pm with "no witnesses".

Those fucking brainiacs just pissed away any chance they had of ever getting any lead out of anybody there. If cops did this to my neighborhood there is no fucking way in hell I would say anything if I knew of anything that could help them.
