This doesn't sound good for CO, or anywhere else for that matter.

^^^ There were some 'red cell' type exercises run that said NYC could pretty much be shut down, isolated, cut-off from power, water, phones, transport, food, fuel.... everything... for an extended period... by a dozen A-teams.

That's 144 guys for those who don't habla.

That's the same number, roughly, it took to over-run the graveyard of empires. Before the neo-cons came along and fu%$#d it all up.

Cheers,

Sirhr

The only problem is getting all those dudes to show in that part of the country at once. Also, we would need some type of decent comms with crypto. That and air support are the hard parts.

Is this even legal to proceed with as a bill, or will it be shut down via judical review after years of working its way thru the court system? Serious question.
*edit. Can a state determine how it awards it electoral votes or is it defined by Federal?

A state determines how it awards its electoral votes.

Most are by state popular vote winner take all.

Some (two?) apportion based on percentage of vote.

Thank you. So states can determine how their electoral votes are determined. I wonder if that includes being able to determine awarding them based on national popular vote instead the will of their electorate (The people of Colorado). Taxation without representation and all that. That is why I think it would be overturned after judicial court review, and hopefully not take years to get to the Supreme Court.

I hope Im wrong but I dont see anything to stop CO from doing this.

The Founders were ingenious in thinking out the future ramifications of the Republic they built.

I guess they never considered a "suicidal" abandonment of "self Interest".

What has become the biggest threat is the co-opting of the various stakeholders to abandon their own self interest to promote the commie power base.

It started early, I guess anything after the 10th Amendment is part of this problem, Congress has given its law making power to bureaucrats, the Executive has lost power to the appointed for life courts, the courts have lost their power to an executive that wont enforce law. Media has given its power to a political party. People have been stripped of their rights as a result of both parties corrupting the system.

The founders spelled it all out, and these NPV bills are completely unconstitutional. I imagine the reason for introducing it now, is they hope it wont have time to be challenged in court before the next election. Mike Rosin was talking about this the other night on 850 KOA.

There is nothing stopping them, it opens up the destruction of the union. Small states against big states

Nah, not so clear on how electors are bound to vote.

Are there restrictions on who the Electors can vote for?
There is no Constitutional provision or Federal law that requires Electors to vote according to the results of the popular vote in their states. Some states, however, require Electors to cast their votes according to the popular vote. These pledges fall into two categories—Electors bound by state law and those bound by pledges to political parties.

The U.S. Supreme Court has held that the Constitution does not require that Electors be completely free to act as they choose and therefore, political parties may extract pledges from electors to vote for the parties' nominees. Some state laws provide that so-called "faithless Electors" may be subject to fines or may be disqualified for casting an invalid vote and be replaced by a substitute elector. The Supreme Court has not specifically ruled on the question of whether pledges and penalties for failure to vote as pledged may be enforced under the Constitution. No Elector has ever been prosecuted for failing to vote as pledged.

Today, it is rare for Electors to disregard the popular vote by casting their electoral vote for someone other than their party's candidate. Electors generally hold a leadership position in their party or were chosen to recognize years of loyal service to the party. Throughout our history as a nation, more than 99 percent of Electors have voted as pledged.

The National Association of Secretaries of State (NASS) has compiled a brief summary of state laws about the various procedures, which vary from state to state, for selecting slates of potential electors and for conducting the meeting of the electors. The document, Summary: State Laws Regarding Presidential Electors, can be downloaded from the resources/elections menu on the NASS website.

Its intended to be based on STATE popular vote yet it does allow portioning and electors aren't even bound to vote a certain way.

I wonder how you call an election though if others adopt this>

Its bad enough trying to police individual state elections.....we would still be in court fighting the 2000 election if many states adopt this abomination.

Meh, let it burn. Let them keep pushing until people won’t take it anymore. It’s comimg warpspeed now so it seems. Gov going to reap what it sows if it doesn’t get a handle on stupid shit like this and the corruptness within its own ranks.

What I can’t figure out is these people are apparently incapable of realizing that if this crap continues they will be essentially burning down their own empires in time, empires that some have taken decades to build. Unless they think the people won’t rebel and will just willingly go along with whatever they want.

Ill be in your state soon enough, I am going to buy a hilltop and set up a transmitter and send signals into Colorado, radio free Europe style

I left Colorado after they went against the Sheriff's and the majority of people and rammed the bullshit gun laws through. Moved to WY and haven't looked back. All of my family still lives in NoCo. The brainwashing in that state is real and getting worse. I just hope the socialist and democrat residents of Colorado don't start moving north en masse due to unsustainable housing and cost of living increases. We really don't want that plague spreading here any faster or at all.

It's too windy for any sane person to live here anyway...

Colorado is just part of a coalition of states that have banned together all of them blue states to try and force the popular vote winner gets the electoral college votes regardless of the out come of that state. This is unconstitutional and in direct violation of how the electoral college is set up and there for would be struct down by SCOTUS. States can pass any law they want it doesn't mean it will ever pass the constitutional test in the courts.
Having said that we will have to wait until more states pass a similar law that totals 270 votes until then it will stay them same

Yeah, we will see. You still have faith in the system.

Commercial pilots used to have to retire at 60. They since moved it up. So how the hell can an aged sack of flesh and bones have the cognitive skills and faculty to make real world decisions that affect the Nation? And stay there until they retire?
Cause her pussy is still so good!

sooooooo.....basically CO just gave the middle finger to all of its citizens.....and decided their vote doesnt mean shit and only the votes of people in NYC and LA will be counted???

if i lived in CO.....them upsurping my vote would have me kicking down the Senate doors and i would take back my vote by force.
