I am in the process of replacing my old AR that I have used for 15 years on a near daily basis through several barrels.
Goal is a lighter rifle than the Mk 12 Mod 1.
Anyone have expirence with Titanium BCG on a precision set up? Looking for light weight precision. Not for rapid follow up.

    Thanks

    Thanks for the replies.
Some of my parts ideas are set.
I’m not looking for an ultra light rifle.
I’m looking for ways to remove weight from a very accurate rifle without degrading accuracy.
Anyone have expirence with titanium BCG on a Precision AR?

A few buddies of mine went the titanium route, myself and another buddy went the aluminum BCG direction. The titanium killed upper receivers and the aluminum had a very short lifespan. We all went back to lightweight steel carriers.
Really light carriers also limit how hard you can push loads in my experience.

    How light?

Don’t have specific weight target. Rifle is suppressed, has NF 2.5-10x24 and NVD at night. Just looking to reduce it if I can.

    Accuracy,

5 shots, 6” vertical at 600 meters. Including CBS My Mk 12’s have done that regurlary and much better at times.

I have changed the foreends and saved a good bit. Will change some non critical titanium parts and call it good.
