Have both 5R and AR platforms...Aimpoint Comp M3 on AR w/ 1913 Pic rail today and Viper PST (planned) for 5R on 1913 Pic rail (planned) as well...

Would like to be able to move the PST over to the AR at times to shoot some 6.8 every now and then and have to think that QD rings don't hold as well as non-QD...

    So the ask here is:

How well do the QD rings hold where they should from your experience? I know I need to re-zero after the move(s) but will I always be "drifting from zero" with QD rings?

I have a Larue LT-139 on my AR and I have moved it between different guns. POI never changed for me, I am pretty happy with it.

Decent QD rings are stable (If you fit them right) and take you back to well within 1MOA of your original POA. Not enough for long range matches in most cases. enough for many other things. One or two shots and your back on. I'm switching over to them on everything I can. Makes it very easy to change a scope in a hurry or to clean the gun without having to worry about the optics while hosing things down and drying them off.

I have a set of Leupold QWR on my Tikka T3 and went as far as bedding the action, of course remove scope/ring combo. Went back out after bedding at 200yds and the damned thing was within 1/2MOA from previous setting. So I have been very pleased to say the least.
