I am not a huge ar guy but am thinking of picking up one just because I want another one around. I currently have one and though I don’t shoot it a ton, just seems like the time to add another. A friend of mine is selling an ath and seems like a pretty nice gun. I see that they offer a 3/4 moa guarantee on the gun also. Has anyone had any first hand experience with that model? Any input would be appreciated. It’s main purpose will be plinking and if the world keeps going the way it is, just to have for protection.

I've had one for years. It's my primary thermal rifle now a days. It shoots damn good. I'm no advanced marksman but I can have clover groups at 100 yds with any factory ammo I've shot out of it.
I did swap the hand guard out for a longer one that covers the gas block. It comes with the 18 inch stainless match barrel.

Haven't shot the ATH but my RRA National Match A2 and second upper both hold 3/4" with MK262 or BlackHills Match ammo. Looks like the difference is 18" barrel, different hand guard, grip, and butt stock. The varmint trigger is 3.5 to 4 pounds, also.

My RRA predator pursuit was a good shooter. I can't say i have built anything that shot better. I have a WOA and BHW barrel that are shooters, and a few others from other manufactures that aren't as good.

On my scoped NMAR I am limited to 4.5 by CMP match rules. For a .308 I'm building I picked up a 4-12 on sale.

If I were putting a scope on my NMAR for regular use out to 700 yards I'd probably look at 3-10 or 4-12, and make sure it had a zero stop.
