I have a 338 Ultra. It's the real deal. Despite having other Ultras I use the 338 on everything because it's so damn impressive.

^^ I know it's not directed at me, but I have a 338 ultra and do wish I would have got the SR. I haven't had it come loose, but I do stop to check it on a 20" ar10. I think the Sr would give a little more piece of mind.

I’d rather have the 338U over the SR. I didnt want to be stuck to their mount, which is spendy. I use Area 419 adapters, which make it easy to move it to everything. I can almost outfit four rifles with the 419 universal adapters for the price of one SR mount.

I have never played with an SR, so I can't comment on them. But I have never had an issue with the standard Ultra and don't see the need for any additional mounting security for my use cases. To me the SR makes more sense when your rifle is bouncing around in a Humvee or helicopter. As a recreational shooter I do just fine with the standard BA mount.
