Suppressors Thunder Beast Dominus

Anybody know the length of the Dominus-CB for the large portion of the can up to the step down part, I’m seeing overall length is 6.25” but how much of that is the smaller portion for the CB?

also if anyone has that same info for the Gen 2 Ultra 7 as well that’d be great

looking to get a couple coletac covers ordered

Here’s a post from a few pages back that may help give you an idea…from one of these pics it looks like the step-down portion is about 1/2”

Atfter having a couple range trips with the Dominus and 338 Ultra, shooting 1 match with the Dominus and having another this weekend, I doubt I’ll ever run unsuppressed ever again. In which case the “brake” argument because a moot point.

In hindsight I would be happy with TBAC CB mounts as opposed to the Area419 adapters. As far as the SR, I don’t need the secondary retention capability, don’t want the extra weight or cost. Your mileage may vary.
How’s the dominus compare to the 338 ultra as far as sound etc. ?

Of course no doubt 338 is quiter than the Dominus if you don't mind the size. Mine Dominus and K are still in Jail. Here are some pictures of the 338SR.

Only round I have shot through both the 338 Ultra and Dominus is .308. Suppression and recoil reduction is noticeably better on the 338 Ultra. I recently shot .308 with 175grs and the 338 Ultra at the 2 day Guardian Arena Match and it felt like I was shooting a 6mm and my teammate and ROs appreciated how well the 338 Ultra suppressed.

To me the Dominus really shines with 6/6.5mm. The suppression levels are excellent and it is not too far from a braked feel.

From my experience correctly bored suppressed meter better but over bored suppressors are more accurate and have greater recoil reduction.

@deersniper Having said all that, I think a good do it all setup would be a 20” 6.5CM with the 338 Ultra

It certainly works well on 18.5" and 24" 6.5CM barrels, so yeah, I imagine it's just fine on a 20".

Depending upon one's definition of "do it all", I might be inclined to recommend a Dominus as the starting point. If one goes for the SR attachment method, it only takes a few seconds to the 338 Ultra SR can if more suppression is worth the additional length and mass.
