I had Jeff at CDI overnight my stock so I could put the gun together tonight for this weekend. Unfortunately, UPS left the stock in Sarasota.
UPS says I will have it by 7:15 tomorrow morning and I should be there at 9:45. I do have a backup gun to shoot.

It's 7:30, I am sitting at ups waiting for them to get my gun stock off the truck. Pretty sure I'm going to be too late to shoot. Will probably come by and shoot later.

For everyone that didn't come out because of the weather or watched the radar .....it did not rain at Thunder Valley today.

Well turned out to be another good day of shooting. Must have been 15-20 new shooters show up today, if I didn't get around to meet you hopefully I'll see you again. I was keeping a couple young adults entertained, their favorite was the suppressed 22 going 370yds.
Tom was out introducing the Hulk series and a few other toys. Looked like everyone was having a good time.

Made the trip to Thunder Valley 3/25 to check it out.I had my gun that I put together with me but when I got out of the car and started to look at some of the other rifles I wasn't sure if I should get it out, so I watched some of the shooters and stood back. Tom ask if I had a rifle with me and told me to set it up on one of the benches and he would be down to help me get started.The farthest I had shot this rifle was 200yds, and the longest shot up Sunday was probably 450 yds.Tom ask what caliber my gun was and adjusted the scope and told me to shoot at the steel plate at 600yds, the second shot hit, then he had me add some elavation and shoot at the 1000yd steel, 3rd shot was a hit. Had a great time and will be back down all I can.

That's a great testimonial from a newb, no offense intended. I too am a newb to long distance shooting having never shot past 300 yards. Your story gives me more confidence to try Thunder Valley without any fear of embarrassment. I've read on these forums about the high dollar rifles and my Rem 700 SPS tactical isn't close to them.
I'm looking forward to the NEWB shoot May 12th. Now if I can just get a Saturday off from this mandatory overtime.
Is the range open on Sundays?

I've had good luck shooting an SPS tactical out there to 1K. It'as not as good as my custom 308, but it works. I'm shooting 175 SMKs in Winchester Brass with 44.0 gr of Varget and CCI 200 primers seated at 2.800". Runs about 2550 fps and gets to 1K just fine. Definitely worth giving it a try.

Breeze 260, it was another great day shooting Sunday . We brought a new shooter (my older brother ) to get out to 1 k , and we all did very well. The sign was great, so we didn't drive in any strangers driveway this time. It was great fun and great hospitality, see you soon, Paul from Ky.

To all you guys (Cory, Bill, Kyle & Mark) who came out to shoot yesterday, I enjoyed shooting with you. It was a good time and I learn new stuff everytime I go out there to shoot. Was a lot of fun.

I was thinking about it, but I don't have enough time to setup a gun, work up a load and get it sighted in. Too much stuff going on.

Thanks Wayde for putting me in the dog house for trying to get away for sat for the iron sight match. I just got the HK back from the smith yesterday. Wife is saying I'm a no go for Sat due to Easter family events. I know your going to tell me to grow a pair but a happy wife is cheaper on my bank account than a divorced wife :-S...
Guess I'm out of luck until the sniper match on the 21-22nd.

Turned out to be a really nice day to shoot. Probably about 20 people there. It ended up being an open range day. although there were a few iron sight rifles that showed up. I saw a Garand get multiple hits at 1K.
Got to shoot with my partner for the sniper match and that went well. Hopefully, I don't drag him down too much in 2 weeks. See you all then.

Great day at TVP, but ive never really had a bad day, the weather was perfect, low winds and comfortable temps. Was able to do some good practice for the sniper match in a few weeks. It was good talking with everyone, hope to see you all again soon.
