Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

So did I.
Smacked 550 on first shot.
Used KY Windage for next.
Paid for five shots over chrony.
Got dope chart.
We help each other.

550 to 950.
station one.
You guy's named it the Intimatator.

Can we get a high def vid of those bullets blowing up?
We need to see that again.

A-max .

I Think Tom just gave the oppotunity ty to get better with our slug guns.

Do we want more old pics from past shoots?

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Hey Glen,

I'm building a photo gallery for our new website so if you can get me some pics or all you have of TVP days I will sort through them.
Just put them on a disc or two and I will compensate you for your time.

Thanks!

I'm proud to have such a good group of responsable and just plain good people helping to represent TVP and it's purpose.
TVP in 2011 will rock the precision shooting world and most of you will be here to enjoy it as well as many others coming out of the wood work. Others and myself behind the scenes are working hard to make it all happen.
That photo that was taken in the winter scene is awesome.
They say a picture is worth a thousand words..how would you describe it? These are some of the stories we will tell our grandkids and of course some we wont..lol.
All I know is there is always something funny going on and the giggle factor is always present, all the while doing things people only dream of. We are blessed.

Tom,

Seems like you have a great group of guys up there. Your attitude has me excited to make it up there for the first time this spring. I'm trying like hell to get my rifle and reloading setup finished. Seems like I will learn a lot from you guys! Can't wait to get in on the fun!

I've had others down here that shoot with me ask about the cost out there to shoot. I know the matches are $30.00 for non-members but I keep seeing this $20.00 for range days posted. Is that for everyone or members only?

Do hope to make it out there this season, didn't make it for any of the Intimidator matches but hopefully this year I'll be able to squeeze in a couple.

Thanks

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Okay I'll try to clear this up... I have been a member from the first time I came to Thunder Valley because I knew that I would be back a lot more than five times a year. When you become a member for $50 it saves you $10 every time you come to Thunder Valley. So when I said $20 dollars it was my mistake, But it was for me.
So Membership is $50 and range & match fee's are $20 members and $30 non-members(which I think its silly Not to be)
You can shoot steel out to 1200 yards from the benches and shoot at one at a Mile
And if you do a search around for membership fee's and cost to shoot at some of the ranges around this isn't nothing.
Hope this clears things up Sorry for my mistake

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

I wish I could just let everyone come shoot for free for many many reasons, but it costs me about $40,000 per year to keep the doors open. Memberships help a lot but I try and keep it real and affordable. Our rates for range days and shooting events are more than fair according to 75% of our cliental. I wish there was a way I could make everyone happy but after 9 years operating TVP I've learned I would have a better chance of living to 200 years of age. In 2010 millions of people lost their homes and jobs and livelyhoods. I'm still kicking and keeping my nose above water..and I wouldn't have it any other way. I love what I do and the smiles we put on peoples faces. That makes it all worth it. I will never get rich doing what I do but I will die with a smile on my face wheather it's sitting against a tree deer hunting when I'm 80 or I fall over of a heart attack carrying this damn heavy rifle up a hill, I will go out doing what I love most. Till then I will strive to keep this thing going as long as I can for ALL of us to enjoy. If anyone has a better Idea please let me know..lol.

Topstrap,

Just got a call from an old 1000 yard customer who has always loved shooting hand guns long range. He asked me aboout getting a long range pistol club/group together here at TVP and shooting some steel matches. Want me to put him touch with you?

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Not sure.
That pic is from a couple years back.
It caused a new shooter to build a fence at home on the honey-do list.

Tom will have to clarify, but .50's have always been welcome.
NO SHOOTING THE STEEL!
He Has a Group that Has a shoot down there.
Warm-up has been Friday, with shoot Sat and Sun.
1000 yrd paper.
Mile is possible from the benches.

No need for de-coder ring.
This pic say's it all.

Happy new year to all.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

Tom, sure thing. I've been on Specialty Pistol website for the past year trying to get anyone around our area to come shoot with us. I'm shooting a relatively stock XP compared to what a lot of those guys are putting together. There are plenty of them around within driving distance in this part of the country but so far not a single one has expressed an interest in joining us for either a fun practice day or one of the long range matches.

They hold a long range event in Wyoming every year sponsored by MOA, I'm sure Gary has mentioned it to you and it'd be nice to have something like that in this part of the county. I've really enjoyed this past summer shooting out to 1000 yards with mine and feel we did well for our first year with them at those distances with the type of equipment we are using. I finally gave in and put a cheap rifle scope on mine for this coming season to hopefully see the targets better than that old pistol scope allowed. My son is updating his to 260 also for next year so Me, Dale and my son hope to make it to a few of your matches this summer.

Since we are shooting half a gun do we get double point values?

Thanks

If you want that handicap we should go to hit factor scoring (points per second)

Re: Thunder Valley Precision--Ohio

I wonder if any of you would be willing to post pics of your TVP built rifles. Just got off the phone with Tom to arrange coming out for the Jan 15th shoot and wanted to see some of his builds, such as the 260 and 300 Hulks.
Thanks
