I've used it at TVP. By the end of the day, I had found 5-10 DEAD ticks on or about my person. This stuff WORKS.

You can get it at outdoor sports places such as REI. You spray your clothes the night before and allow clothes to dry. It lasts through several washings. It is harmful to cats (felines). </div></div>

You know that it has to be harmful to something if the military adopted it.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision Sniper Match April 21-22

dicks has Permethrin in big sprayer bottels for gear.. make sure to only put in on the outside of the cloths...

let it dry before wareing... it will last 3 months on most clotes...

use DEET on your skin under the cloths.. and neck .. u dont want then in your hair where u wont see them...

Re: Thunder Valley Precision Sniper Match April 21-22

Ammo's all loaded and gear's all packed. I always think that im forgetting something. Anyway see everyone at the range tomorrow night late.

walmart....
ANY bug juice with DEET... look for 6 or 8 hour protection...

do not buy non-deet... DEET is 1 of about 2 things that will keep ticks away.. most of the non DEET only work on misquitios...

Re: Thunder Valley Precision Sniper Match April 21-22

Update:

It's cold, raining, windy, and miserable. Hits on steel are rare. Doesn't look like the weather is going to break.

As Wayde put it: If it ain't raining, you ain't training.

That may be but I think I prefer lots of sun to make it more fun.

Tomorrow looks more promising, maybe a bit of wind but better temps and no rain.

Have fun

Re: Thunder Valley Precision Sniper Match April 21-22

We had so much fun in the rain and cold today, that we forgot to hit the targets. Forecast for Sunday, 55 degrees and partly cloudy, winds at 25 from NNW. The beatings will continue at 8am.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision Sniper Match April 21-22

Very good job everyone. For the new guys to tactical competitions I'm sure you had a rude awakening. Very complicated and difficult match. Looking forward to the fall match. Thanks to all the ROs and Tom and Wayde.

Thank you,
Merritt

Re: Thunder Valley Precision Sniper Match April 21-22

Great match, had a good time and learned a lot. Mostly that I suck and I can only get better. Thanks to Tom, Wayde, Skivy, and the remaining ROs for running the match. After this weekend 8 minutes to shoot a stage is going to seem like all day.

Hahaha we will I guess...

I'm Tut, and Matt will probably chime in here sometime soon.

I had a fantastic time this weekend. Learned a ton and got to stretch the legs on the newly rebarreled rifle. The weather was pretty rough but made it interesting to say the least.

Hope to make it back out a lot this up coming summer.

Re: Thunder Valley Precision Sniper Match April 21-22

Great match.

Thank you Tom, Wayd, Jim and those other fellows whose names I didn't catch. Course of fire was difficult but fun. Match was run very smoothly, professionally, and pleasantly... Wayde, I don't think you earned "Asshole" this weekend.

Nice to see some of y'all again, and to meet new folks. See ya next time!

Well I guess I got dragged into this one.. the only shooting I will take credit for the the 1000 cold bore, the unsupported 4-500yd hit, and the clean.. the rest was all tut's fault

But definitly a HUGE learning experience. Wouldn't have asked for anything different.

The other two sponsors were supposed to shoot the match in exchange for their support. They were unable to make it last minute, I found out by a shooter match morning. So that's why they are on the shirt and you didn't see their prizes.

I'll try to get the scoresheets posted tonight.
