i am finally going to take the plunge and get a suppressor for my Sako TRG 22 308 and Sako TRG 42 300 win mag. I was going to try to get the new 30 CB but my dealer has in the shop a 30 BA. thinking about just getting the BA since I could start form 4 now and not have to wait until the 30 CB is made and then the form 3 time. Is the CB going to be so much better to justify the wait? Appreciate any thoughts (also is the 30 going to be enough for the 300 win mag?). I was initially going to do 30 P1 but since i am going to be switching between the two rifles a lot and will sometimes need to shoot without the suppressor that the brake attach was a better idea.

The BA is a quality can and TBAC has already stated they will be continuing to provide support in manufacturing the BA mounts. Some say the BA is ugly, I don't absolutely hate it and it is effective. I would have no hesitations about buying the 30 BA unless you really want the new brake. The BA is in stock meaning it will be much sooner that you get to go out and enjoy it. The thought of waiting for TBAC to make the cans, form 3 them to your dealer, and then form 4 the transfer to you or your trust sucks. That's a lot of time.
The CB is the same can as the BA version, just with a different mount. If cosmetics matter and you hate the look of the BA brake, wait for the CB. If you don't care and just want a solid suppressor mount, the BA is fine.
Don't wait, buy the BA now if its in stock. Get your paperwork turned in before the approval process changes for the worse. If the process changes for the better, no harm done. If later you decide that the BA is not ideal, get a CB, or a CB adapter. Or, as Graham suggested, get a 30P-1. If you truly plan to be "switching between the two rifles a lot", two cans sure make the fun more fun.

I'm in the same dilemma as you but with the added problem of having a 338BA pending and had originally planned to use the 338BA on a 300 RUM for range work but use the 30BA for hunting.
I decided to wait for a 30CB9 as I won't be using the 338BA on my other short action rifles and I like the new brake better. I also placed on order direct from Thunderbeast so I would save on some wait time. (Instead of a Form 3 to Silencershop then a Form 3 to my dealer it will form 3 straight from TB to my local SOT).
If I really want to use the 338BA on my RUM I'll just use a 338BA brake or use the CB adapter.

We have no plans to change the mount on the 338BA so the basic brake size will be around for a long time.

I just bought my 30BA back in September and expect to wait until October until ATF allows me to have it. I love the new design of the 30 CB series but have been pondering the 30P-1 and using a jam nut with a "regular" brake like a VG6 Gamma762 for my LMT and Chanlynn build; however, the 30CB9 sure looks like a nice alternative to going through that ordeal.
Zak, you mention on your site "We were able to reduce the maximum outer diameter of the shoulder surface while increasing the overall conical shoulder area to increase lockup strength." But I can't find the specs on the brake itself, how much "less" diameter is the new CB brake vs. the BA brake? Any chance that an adapter could be made for the CB brake that will allow it to work with the BA suppressor? This way those of us who own the BA system could purchase the CB brakes with an adapter if we would like the sleeker and more efficient design of the CB without having to purchase a new suppressor and wait another year (or more with the way ATF is going right now). Thank you
