TiborasaurusRex shooting a water bottle at 1072 yards with a .260

He was in Big Army,

He relates stories that have something to do with an artillery unit and a lot of his reference stuff comes from Artillery Manuals.

I think he was a logistics or support company in an Arty Unit, he even mentioned Fort Sill
Frank: I think you did a good job reviewing Rex's seminar on your podcast. I've watched many of his Sniper 101 videos and learned some things I did not know. As I have here. He has a good personality and style of teaching. Hard to review or critique some one else who teaches things you teach and not come off sounding like a jerk. You took pains to succeed and you did not come off sounding like a jerk.

I am on , what I think, are some good forums for learning and try to take what learning I can from them all. So, good job. Enjoyed the podcast and the difference in teaching styles between you two.

The biggest issue I have is the drastic lack of simplifying simple topics or ideas. The videos are far too long and don’t provide any info that is direct and to the point. They are just filled with lots of opinions, free information and Tier 1 buzzwords.

The other issue would be the crafty editing that he appears to use. I feel that some have been done to serve as product endorsements and marketing (Axial precision comes to mind). Just far too much smoke and mirrors instead of live fire instruction without using “stock footage”. He uses the same clips over and over. For the money he is charging ppl, he could afford the ammo.

Speaking of the cost, I honestly can’t fathom why anyone would knowingly pay to attend one of his seminars for instruction. You can learn some things in a classroom, but I feel that most ppl learn more from hands on practice. In addition, there are a lot of more accomplished and accredited instructors to choose from.

Frank, I thought you discussed your experience very well. You didn’t come off like a jerk but more or less confirmed what most of us already knew.

I hear you, Triple D. I'm not really down on TRex. I got a kick out of his one mile beer can video and a few others, but I'm not going to use his stuff to learn the hardware or technique side when there are no-nonsense, systematic, thorough and detailed sources, such as LL, PRB, etc.

It was in my backyard so I went to see what it was all about

I will talk about it today in the podcast,

I am still trying to figure out how to phrase it without coming off like a jerk, but needless to say, I was curious.

When I doing some prep work for the Gathering here in CO, I had to hit Facebook several times to manage the event. So last week I saw Rex was going to be. 20 minutes away so I went to check it out for myself.

Sure a ton of guys have filled me in and reported stuff, but nothing like seeing it first hand.

Frank,
Listened your podcast, “The Everyday Sniper Episode 190 Rex Defense Post Class Debrief.” Thought you did an honest job of relaying your experience in his class without coming off like a critic “bent” on putting him down. I think the constructive criticism you provided will be useful to him. I don’t know Rex personally, but did find some of the information in his videos useful.

Rex is definitely a likable guy with a particular audience that gravitate towards his style of teaching and the content he provides.
